2016 My First Speech Winners Announced

The 2016 My First Speech competition winners have been announced. See the videos of the 2016 winners and finalists below.

Rizina Yadav from Charlestown in New South Wales has won 1st place;

Alexandra Crabb from Wavell Heights in Queensland has won 2nd place; and

Samuel Watson from Devonport in Tasmania has won 3rd place

Congratulations to our winners and finalists for the 2016 My First Speech competition. The 2016 competition attracted many fantastic entries from all over Australia.

The nationwide competition was open to all Australian secondary students enrolled in years 10 to 12.

Students were asked to imagine themselves as a newly elected MP and to write and present a three minute speech about an issue or issues they are passionate about.

First, second and third place winners will be flown to Canberra in November with a parent or guardian to present their speech at Parliament House.
