The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, was signed on March 23, 2010. Although the Affordable Care Act is "widely considered the most far-reaching health care reform act since the passage of Medicare" and Medicaid, a 2013 poll conducted by The Washington Post and ABC News found that 62 percent of Americans felt they did not have enough information to understand what changes were occurring in the healthcare industry as a result of the law.
