‘Avengers: Endgame’ Expected to Shatter Box Office Records
Avengers: Endgame” has its sights set on world domination.

Disney and Marvel’s upcoming superhero epic should light the box office on fire when it launches this weekend, with the hopes of setting domestic, international, and global records. In North America alone, “Avengers: Endgame” is expected to earn between $250 million and $268 million in its first three days of release. If it hits the higher part of that range it would qualify as the biggest domestic debut of all time, a distinction currently held by 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” the precursor to “Endgame,” which launched with $257.7 million.

Advance ticket sales have been sky high for “Endgame,” so box office watchers are confident the grand conclusion to the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be one for the record books. At the very least, the opening weekend of “Endgame” will position itself as one of the best launches ever. Disney

Letitia Wright Found Out About Shuri’s ‘Infinity War’ Death From A Poster, Just Like the Rest of Us

Letitia Wright Found Out About Shuri’s ‘Infinity War’ Death From A Poster, Just Like the Rest of Us
Letitia Wright became an instant favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when she made her debut as Wakanda princess and tech maven Shuri in Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther.” Wright reprised the character in “Avengers: Infinity War,” serving an important role as the primary character tasked with removing the Mind Stone from Vision (Paul Bettany). Many Marvel fans thought Shuri survived the events of “Infinity War,” as the character was not shown turning to dust after Thanos’ snap, but Marvel said otherwise March 26 when it debuted a Shuri poster for “Endgame” confirming the character died. Fans were shocked by the news, but probably not as shocked as Wright herself.

“It was surprising,” Wright told Marvel Entertainment at the “Endgame” premiere, revealing she found out about her character’s tragic fate at the same time the world did. “I saw everybody in the colored photos, you know the colored posters, and

‘Saturday Night Live’ Spec Script Suggests that Thanos Hosting Could Be a Lot of Fun
Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, upcoming fourth-timer Paul Rudd — seems like nearly every major “Avengers” star has hosted “Saturday Night Live” at some point. But whither Thanos? Yes, Josh Brolin, in his non-purple state, has hosted the show twice, but why shouldn’t the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most powerful supervillain get a chance to take over Studio 8H?

To dig into this question, editor and comedian Dominick Nero created a spec script for “Saturday Night Live” to address this issue — and also poke a little fun at the familiar rhythms of the long-running sketch series. Not every sketch is a winner (just like on regular “Saturday Night Live”) but it’s a fun read for anyone trying to avoid “Endgame” spoilers, one which invokes memories of classic viral specs like Billy Domineau’s “‘Seinfeld’ does 9/11” script.

what would it be like if Thanos hosted Saturday Night Live?

Doug Liman’s $100 Million-Costing ‘Chaos Walking’ Was Reportedly Deemed “Unreleasable” By Lionsgate

Blake Lively‘s “The Rhythm Section,” Fox/Disney‘s “Ad Astra,” and Netflix‘s “Eli.” Every season has a frame where films are scheduled for release, the clock is ticking down to that date and no marketing materials have been released, causing audiences and film writers to ask what’s going on? 2019, as suggested has had several of these films, with clearly troubled productions.

Making a Nat Geo Doc Series in the Frozen Arctic is Even Harder Than You Think — Watch

Making a Nat Geo Doc Series in the Frozen Arctic is Even Harder Than You Think — Watch
Over the 11-season run of “Life Below Zero,” the NatGeo series has won a trio of Emmys. If, in addition to Cinematography and Picture Editing, there was a category for “pulling a snowmobile from a freezing lake in the immediate aftermath of a dangerous windstorm,” the show might be up for a few more.

The new short form series “Life Behind Life Below Zero” (itself competing for an Emmy this year) charts the behind-the-scenes efforts it takes to document life in extreme freezing conditions. It illustrates how phrases like “we had to abandon our camp” and inescapable facts like an already untenable temperature dropping another 40 degrees are part of the realities of this show’s production.

This episode features interview snippets with the show’s crew, from those running cameras to the series’ Safety Manager. For a show ostensibly set in a place where extreme conditions are the norm, it

ESPN, PBS, and BBC Among Final Batch of 78th Peabody Winners

ESPN, PBS, and BBC Among Final Batch of 78th Peabody Winners
The 78th Peabody Awards Board of Jurors announced its final batch of winners on April 23, revealing the winners of the News and Radio/Podcast categories and completing its list of Peabody 30 for programs released in 2018.

The stories told by the News and Radio/Podcast honorees run the gamut from local, to national, to global, all serving as a valuable antidote to cultural conversations awash in fake news. Among them, the tale of convicted serial child molester and former USA Gymnastics national team doctor Larry Nassar spurred coverage awarded in both news and podcast form, including ESPN’s “Spartan Silence: Crisis at Michigan State” and the Michigan Radio/NPR podcast “Believed.”

Two entrants from PBS are celebrated in the news category: a “Frontline” episode focused on the separation of children from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border and a “PBS NewsHour” series looking at the country’s dependence on

Amazon Apologizes for Leaking ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode Early

Amazon Apologizes for Leaking ‘Game of Thrones’ Episode Early
The weekly “Game of Thrones” festivities got off to an auspicious start on Sunday when Amazon Prime subscribers in Germany gained early access to the second episode of the HBO series’ farewell season.

In an oversight that took longer than the length of “Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” to rectify, customers were able to watch the episode well in advance of others around the globe.

“We regret that for a short time Amazon customers in Germany were able to access episode two of season eight of Game of Thrones…This was an error and has been rectified,” a company representative told the BBC.

It’s the latest challenge in a series of efforts to ensure that viewers across the globe are experiencing new episodes of the show at the same time. Massive measures have been put in place to prevent footage leaks, including the ongoing decision to withhold advance screeners from press outlets.

Hit from 1946 now criticised for portrayal of African-Americans in post-slavery period

When Disney’s streaming site launches in the Us in November this year, fans will be able to watch the Star Wars spin-off series The Mandalorian and classic films. However, there will be a notable absence from Disney Plus: the 1946 film Song of the South, which has long been a controversial title for Disney because of how it depicts the lives of African-American plantation workers in the southern states after the civil war.

The company has also decided to cut a scene from Dumbo that is considered racist.
