I like the brief remarks about the place of a piece in musicology. That said, I am puzzled as to wh...y an instrument so important in the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods seems to be banned from your broadcasts. Exquisite organ compositions by J.S. Bach, for instances, are played only in the grossly outsized orchestral transcriptions. The important quality of timbre is ignored, if not crushed, in these monstrosities. Wonderful organ compositions from Holland and England, for example, are ignored. Is this the best we can do? See More
