    Black music is at the very core of my job and I wouldn't be able to do it without black people having freedom and a voice. Marched today to express solidarity with those fighting for every black voice to be heard, and for every black person to live free of fear and violence.

    I think this every day and then my mind spools back across history thinking of all the people who will have got away with racial violence because no-one saw. Hell, or even proudly took photos of it. A miserable thing to consider. Hope the visibility can effect change this time.

    Every video I see of police brutality makes me wonder how many similar acts are undocumented. Getting even a chance of justice often seems to depend on whether a bystander happened to film the offence.

    Now up to 300+. The documentation of recent protests/killings is unprecedented and in certain cases is leading to arrests/sackings. Vigilance will be needed re encroachments on right to film one's surroundings (you can bet there will be lobbying against it).

    To simplify following the criminal justice news of the last 36 hours, I posted a set of 10 links to police brutality videos on Facebook Can't do that here, obvs So I'm putting them into a thread

    . do journalism by and for female & nb people of colour that is more valuable than ever right now. They have a great "pay it forward" scheme to fund a membership for someone who can't afford one, if you want to doubly help out. All best to their team at a tough time.

    Due to Covid-19, we're working at really reduced capacity in terms of editorial. Please bear with us on content & email replies, we're working hard to publish meaningfully around , but it will take time. And, as black editors, we're hurting too.

    Wonderful, laudable initiative. This weekend I started donating each month to the LDF as I can sadly see there being a lot of need for their valuable work in the wake of these rightful protests, as well as more generally in a racist and unequal US.
