Interdisciplinary Undergraduate Degrees

MIT offers seven interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees:

  • Chemistry and Biology, a joint program offered by the Departments of Chemistry and Biology (School of Science).
  • Computer Science and Molecular Biology, a joint program offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (School of Engineering) and the Department of Biology (School of Science).
  • Computer Science, Economics, and Data Science, a joint program offered by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (School of Engineering) and the Department of Economics (School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences).
  • Humanities, a program offered by the Department of Humanities that encompasses six fields of interdisciplinary study.
  • Humanities and Engineering, a joint program in which a student combines coursework from a degree program in the School of Engineering and one of 17 programs in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
  • Humanities and Science, a joint program in which a student combines coursework from a degree program in the School of Science and one of 17 programs in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
  • Urban Science and Planning with Computer Science, a joint program offered by the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (School of Architecture and Planning) and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (School of Engineering).
