A330-800

Powering into the future

The A330-800 – one of two A330neo versions, along with the A330-900 – is a more efficient aircraft that will generate savings through its reduced fuel burn. The jetliner incorporates the latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, along with multiple aerodynamic improvements. With a range of 8,150 nautical miles, the A330-800 typically will seat 220 to 260 passengers in three classes of service, while offering capacity for up to 406 travellers in a high-density configuration.

New Generation Efficency

The A330neo is the latest evolution in Airbus' market-leading A330 product line, comprising two versions: the A330-800 and A330-900.  Both of these wide-body aircraft incorporate new Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, plus aerodynamic improvements and the latest cabin technologies, with the A330-800 version retaining the fuselage length of Airbus' current-production A330-200.

The entry-level wide-body

The A330 benefits from the advanced Airbus cockpit design.

The future of aviation gets a step closer with the introduction of the A330neo. Building on the proven success of its popular twin-aisle twin-engine wide-body A330 Family, Airbus launched the A330neo jetliner in July 2014, comprised of two aircraft: the A330-800 and the A330-900. The A330-800 is based on the popular A330-200 and delivers significant improvements in terms of efficiency, while also launching the eye-catching Airspace cabin that will redefine the quality of in-flight experience passengers can come to expect. Entry-into-service is expected in 2019.

The A330neo is a more efficient aircraft that will generate savings through its reduced fuel burn. It incorporates latest-generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, along with aerodynamic improvements – such as new composite Sharklet wingtip devices that provide an increased wing span of 4 metres – as well as increased lift and reduced drag.

With a range of 8,150 nautical miles, the A330-800 will typically seat 220 to 260 passengers in three classes of service, while offering capacity for up to 406 travellers in a high-density configuration.

Airspace

The A330neo is the launch vehicle for the Airspace cabin philosophy, meaning its passengers will be among the first to experience new standards of on-board relaxation. Welcomed by wide seats and a beautifully lit cabin, passengers also can enjoy the latest generation of in-flight entertainment or take care of business with email and Wi-Fi capabilities. Whether it’s short, medium or long-haul, passengers can have access to everything they need to truly relax and enjoy the flight.

Utilising cutting-edge cabin developments first developed on the all-new A350 XWB and encompassing four key pillars – comfort, ambience, services and design – Airspace offers more personal space and a unique welcome area, as well as Airbus’ signature design elements – the combination of which create a cabin that represents the highest standards of design and luxury.
