The Moon Camp Challenge is a yearly competition from January to March, jointly run by the Airbus Foundation in partnership with Autodesk, and the European Space Agency.
In 2019, Roberto Acuto was named a winner of Airbus Foundation and ESA’s Moon Camp Challenge, which tasked school-aged participants with designing a Moon base camp. This year, Roberto is using the 3D printer he won at the challenge to print ventilator valve fittings for use by hospitals on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy.
From November to January 2021, the Discovery category will be open to anyone! By submitting your design of a Moon Lander, Rover or Habitat, you will receive a participation certificate.
From January to May 2021, the Explorers category will be open to students up to 14 years old (included). Students will have to form teams to design their Moon Camp using Tinkercad and explain their decisions in a written report to the jury.
From January to May 2021, the Pioneers category will be open to students from 15 to 18 years old (included). Students will have to form teams to design their Moon Camp using Fusion360 and explain their decisions in a written report to the jury to get a chance to a prize.
