Derived from Airbus’ mission-proven Super Puma family, the H215 is available in two different versions for the performance best-suited to customer needs. It is characterised by a proven and robust design with a modern cockpit and autopilot inherited from the reference in the field, the H225. The H215 offers excellent payload lift performance, cost efficiency and a demonstrated ability to operate in the world’s harshest environments.

A choice of two versions

The H215 is proposed in two versions, one tailored for multi-role operations and the other with a shorter cabin airframe and an increased payload for aerial work or utility duties.

Intuitive pilot assistance

The H215 is equipped with the H225’s 4-axis dual duplex digital autopilot.

User-friendly through an intuitive glass cockpit, including the real-time power margin display (first limit indicator), the H215 provides unique autopilot assistance; precision, stability and flight envelop protection for an optimised crew workload; and situational awareness for better mission efficiency and safety in even the harshest operating conditions.

Proven and versatile

A member of the proven Super Puma/Cougar family, the H215 is a heavy-weight, twin-engine CAT A helicopter with outstanding performance, known for its dependable availability rate and competitive operating costs.

The multi-role version has a large reconfigurable cabin, a wide range of equipment options, a night vision goggle-compatible cockpit and an all-weather capability including a full de-icing system. It covers the full spectrum of public service missions (SAR, medevac, law enforcement, passenger transport, firefighting, disaster relief, etc.), while also extending its roster of missions to aerial work duties.

The aerial work version with a shorter airframe and a lighter configuration offers an optimum payload, making it the choice for aerial work and firefighting missions. This version can also be configured for missions such as utility and passenger transport.

Missions

Public services

For law enforcement duties, the H215 can carry a fully equipped special forces team for deployment by day and night, along with a hoist, rappelling and fast-roping beam. With a night vision goggle-compatible cockpit, it can also be fitted with a full de-icing kit, multi-purpose air intakes, electro-optical system, hailer loud speaker system, cargo sling and armouring protection.

When outfitted with multi-patient medical interiors, the H215 is a versatile medical evacuation platform, while the helicopter’s overall performance, quick start procedure, all weather capability and range/endurance enables extended-duration search and rescue (SAR) missions. It has dedicated role equipment and an autopilot inherited from the H225, including SAR upper modes and precision automatic transition to hover.

As a firefighting asset, it can employ a Bambi bucket kit or be equipped  with a water belly tank. 

Passenger transport

The H215’s large interior accommodates 19 passengers comfortably or up to 22 troops, making it ideal for passenger transport. It can also be used for executive and VIP transport, with up to 12 seats, and as a corporate shuttle.

As a head-of-state aircraft, cabin layouts can include front and rear lounges, galleys and lavatories, along with food service galleys.

Aerial work and utility

In aerial work and utility missions, the H215 offers a cargo sling capacity of up to 4.5 tonnes and good high and hot performance. Heavy internal loads are facilitated through large sliding doors that allow bulky freight to be loaded and unloaded, while its rear access facilitates the handling of long loads. The H215’s external mirrors help with utility work missions.

The H215 is civil certified and can be configured for fire-fighter transport capability.

19 passenger transport seats

The one-pilot and four-passenger configuration is ideal for VIP or private and business aviation. With forward-facing seats and a spacious cabin, passengers can make the most of their time in the air. The two-pilot and 19-seat configuration is adapted for commercial passenger transport and offshore operations. The air-conditioned cabin and energy-absorbing seats in a staggered arrangement increase passenger comfort, while a central “aisle” and large windows impart a sense of space. In its one- or two- pilot plus 19-seat configuration, the H215 is suited for passenger transport duties. Comfortable energy-absorbing seats with a single aisle provide passengers with a sense of volume and ease.

22 troop transport seats

In its troop configuration, the H215 seats one or two pilots and up to 22 troops on utility seats in a mixed back-to-back and face-to-face configuration. Equipment and personnel gain easier access through two large sliding doors in the cabin.

SAR or medevac

In its two-pilot, medical configuration, the H215’s long cabin can accommodate a variety of layouts. A sample configuration could include a stretcher and up to nine seats for cabin crew, including medical attendants, plus patients. Large access doors and unobstructed space provide for efficient cabin operations.

Casevac

In its two-pilot, multi-stretcher configuration, the H215 is ideal for casualty evacuation missions. A number of configurations are possible, with a mix of crew and/or passenger seats or space for up to six stretchers.
