Dirk Erat

Dirk Erat was appointed SVP/Head of Communications for Airbus Defence and Space in 2012 and he is a member of the division’s Executive Committee. In addition to his current position, from 2016 to 2019, he was also responsible for Airbus Digital Communications, and from 2014 to 2016, he was Head of News & Media Relations at Airbus Group.

Prior to joining Airbus in 2012, he was Head of Corporate Media Relations at Porsche AG in Stuttgart, a position he held since 2008. Between 2000 and 2008, he had a number of positions at Siemens AG Corporate Communications department, including Head of External Communications.

Born on 28 November 1971, Dirk Erat holds a degree in Journalism. He also studied Politics, History, German, Psychology and Education Science at the University of Education Weingarten and the University of Konstanz.
