For the past 50 years, the Airbus story has been one of ambition and progress, defined by innovations that address some of society’s most critical issues, from mobility to security.

But when Airbus Foundation was launched in August 2008, it marked a significant moment in our ambition to build a better-connected, safer and more prosperous world.

Reaching its tenth birthday last year, Airbus Foundation has grown in size and scope but remains committed to its goals. The Foundation’s youth programmes have inspired the next generation of pioneers to embrace their future, reaching more than 10,000 young people in 22 countries. 

Airbus Foundation has also developed a reputation as a trusted partner to the humanitarian community, responding to requests for help, by mobilising Airbus’ products and services to provide relief flights, helicopter hours and satellite imagery. 

To date, Airbus Foundation has undertaken 68 humanitarian flights to transport over 866 tonnes of essential aid and medical and humanitarian personnel. 

Over 495 flight hours have been granted to emergency responders in over 27 countries. Moreover, Airbus Foundation has trained about 800 doctors and rescuers to operate our helicopters, ensuring the development of Emergency Medical Services around the world.
