H215M
The H215M is a combat-proven multi-role medium-heavy helicopter, combining the Cougar and Super Puma family’s proven ruggedness with the H225M’s full glass cockpit, autopilot, and avionics. With competitive operating and maintenance costs, and the ability to be easily deployed and armed for ground attack and support missions, the H215M is an affordable and efficient heavy utility rotorcraft solution.
Unique pilot assistance
The H215M is equipped with the H225’s 4-axis dual-duplex digital autopilot.
Simple to operate through an intuitive glass cockpit that is compatible with night vision goggles, it includes a “first limit indicator” that provides a real-time power margin display and is highly appreciated by pilots. The H215M provides unique autopilot assistance; precision, stability and flight envelope protection for both optimised crew workload; and situational awareness resulting in better mission efficiency and safety in even the harshest operating conditions.
Competitive and multi-mission ready
Thanks to its size, reliability and rate of availability, the H215M is perfectly suited for all utility missions in extreme environments and on the battlefield.
The H215M is selected by customers around the world for its cost efficiency, long range capabilities and outstanding performance in high and hot environments.
Outfitted with the appropriate equipment, the H215M is capable of a wide range of missions:
On call
Airbus’ H215M is mission-ready – at home in hot temperatures and at high altitudes. The rotorcraft’s discretion, low vulnerability, survivability and ability to fly in icing conditions ensure maximum operability – even in the most challenging situations.
It accommodates a variety of armament, and serves as a hefty transporter – able to lift 4.5 tonnes on a sling.
Thanks to a long fuselage that provides additional volume, the H215M is reliable, rapid and highly manoeuvrable – backed by excellent power reserves from its two Makila 1A1 turboshaft engines.
Survivable
The H215M has a rugged fuselage that includes high energy-absorbing landing gear, along with self-sealing and crashworthy fuel tanks and armouring protection.
Crashworthy seats are installed for the pilot and co-pilot. The fuel tanks have designed-in crash resistance, while multi-purpose air intakes provide protection against sand and icing.
Maintainable
The H215M was designed with maintainability in mind. Built-in tests for the onboard avionics allow support teams to perform troubleshooting without the need for specific tooling.
The H215M’s composite main and tail rotor blades are designed for long life and protection against erosion. Maintenance access in the field is facilitated by integrated steps and by engine cowlings that serve as a work platform when in the open position.
An exclusive Airbus feature is a 20-foot shelter-based container transportable by land, sea and air that brings maintenance capability to remote operating sites.

Troop transport and MEDEVAC
The H215M can carry a crew of two to three plus up to 24 troops for transport missions.
It can accommodate six patients on stretchers plus 10 other passengers on medical evacuation flights.
The affordable SAR and combat SAR solution
The H215M offers exceptional range and endurance of over 600 NM or six hours that can be extended by hover in-flight refuelling (HIFR).
It can be operated in all weather including in icing conditions, and offers high mission efficiency thanks to its quick start-up procedure (around five minutes) and speed. Its pilot assistance and SAR modes are derived from the H225.
Special operations and fire support
Armament that are qualified for H215M firing missions include a dual-side window 7.62 mm gun, side-door mounted 20 mm gun, 20 mm gun pod of 180 rounds, 19 2.75-inch rocket launchers, and side-mounted rapid-fire machine guns.
