    As far as I can from my position of white privilege: I agree that it’s easy for those who aren’t on the receiving end of this kind of abuse to dismiss it as ‘just words.’ These expressions of hatred are abhorrent and unacceptable in a democratic, civil society.

    To those telling me hate speech is just ppl getting upset by offensive words - I suspect you've not been on receiving end of it. A selection from my social media platforms over last 48hrs, from mocking the miscarriages we have suffered, Islamaphobic/racial abuse, physical threats

    As a you are allowed to travel to court irrespective of your local authority area protection level. Courts and tribunals will remain open for business under all 5 levels of the new framework, as the delivery of justice is regarded as “essential”

    Just renewed my practising certificate with - great to see the introduction of diversity data collection as part of the process. Diversity is a problem in the profession, but we’re lacking data on which we can build strategic action. This is a big step towards that 👏👩‍⚖️

    We have updated our guidance to show that the 'clock was stopped' on the expiry of all guardianships that existed when emergency provisions came into force on 7/4/20. The 'clock started' again on 30/09/20 when the provisions were suspended.
