Well, this is interesting: After announcing the Man of Steel sequel at the San Diego Comic-Con in July 2013 and running full steam ahead with casting announcements in the months following that bombshell, Warner Bros. has apparently had a change of heart regarding just how quickly its Superman-Batman mashup movie will actually make it to theaters.

From the moment Warner Bros. decided to announce its upcoming Batman/Superman crossover movie by having an actor quote lines from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, fans have been waiting to hear that the storyline would offer a direct adaptation of the graphic novel -- which peers far into a possible future for the titular heroes and finds Superman working as a government stooge while a bitter Batman comes out of retirement to give Krypton's favorite son a refresher course in truth, justice, and the American way.

Rumors claim Christopher Nolan has left the Man of Steel sequel in the wake of Ben Affleck's casting

joblo.com – Read into it what you will, but Christopher Nolan's name does not appear on the press release for Ben Affleck's casting as Batman in the MAN OF STEEL sequel. Man of Steel had a bit of a bumpy ride with critics, but it encountered far less resistance with audiences -- and the home video release, due November 12, sounds like it will be suitably super. Arriving in the requisite array of formats, including DVD, Blu-ray, and digital download, Man of Steel will also offer a variety of packages for different levels of Superman fans, from the standard combo pack to a limited Collector's Edition that comes packed in a metal "S" with a lucite stand.
