The digital signature on the Smartcard has a validity period of three years. It needs to be renewed before its expiry date so that you can continue to take full advantage of all features of you Smartcard.

The signature cannot be renewed after the last day of its validity period - should the signature expire, you will not be able to use your Smartcard for any electronic transactions. A new digital signature needs to be issued requiring a face-to-face meeting with a Smartcard Operator.

This page will guide you through the renewal procedure. For an overview, please refer to this refer to this flowchart.
