With the rising cost of tuition averaging $12,000 a year, housing, books, along with diapers, baby formula and more, it can be financially overwhelming. For some it can seem impossible to live a balance like that. Yet there’s some that can make it work.
You can’t put a price on fun, unless you’re talking about an unlimited service/access of entertainment under $10. Streaming services of entertainment such a Netflix, HBO GO, Spotify, Tidal and more are dominating people’s screens and monthly bank accounts transactions. Music and film lovers such as Audrey Matusz are not afraid to drop cash for streaming services. “I stay on the go, but don’t want to have to miss my favorite show like Insecure, or miss new music albums drop. Plus, I am barely ever home to watch TV or chill on my laptop.
Over the last few years East Lansing, Mich. has seen a drastic increase of apartment complexes. Prior to before there are more options than ever, for East Lansing residents. More and more these apartment are coming with amenities that will have college students at Michigan State University living better than some working adults. Apartment companies like SkyVue , DTN, and Hannah Lofts just to name a few are dominating the millennial housing market in the area.
Everyone knows, if you break the law, you’d better be ready to pay the consequences. Traffic violations such as speeding are all fun and games until the blue and red lights come on, and the green starts to come out of your pocket.But does the consequence of a fine deter people from driving recklessly?

Many people are not a big fan of tests, especially tests that deal with letting you know if you have a sexually transmitted disease or not. Although it is imperative to your status, it can be pricey. Cameron James recently got his second STD test for the year, which costed the 23-year-old $500 to get tested for all STDs.
College in the spring is all about spring break. Yet, spring break vacation can be expensive. Students already having to pay for the new school year can be another financial stress putting together a vacation. Luckily, planning early help to make it more affordable. Michigan State student Albertina Mays is an expert at saving money for spring break.
What is the craziest or most creative thing you have ever done to save money? Most people have tried to figure out how to save themselves money, and some people have gone to creative lengths to do so. Kelly Paananen, native of Hazel Park, Michigan, has found some creative ways to save money toward vacations. “One of the most creative ways to make and save money that I have tried was having a massive garage sale between friends for spending money on a vacation,” said Paananen. “We had friends and family donate to the garage sale as well.”
Paananen also hides money in order to save it for later.
