I'm a Software Development Engineer for Amazon Web Services. I'm currently based in Seattle after initially joining at the Amazon Development Center in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, working on the Cloud9 IDE.

Previously, I was a Preceptor in Computer Science at Harvard University working on curriculum design and research for the introductory sequence of Computer Science classes at Harvard College. Further back, I was a masters student at UC Berkeley studying Computer Science with a focus on online education, advised by Professors Dan Garcia and Armando Fox. My work investigated student metacognition in online courses through an adaptive exercise system that customized the progression of question topics to each student.

Beginning in 2008 I was a network engineer for Mindset Media. In 2011, Meebo acquired the company where I continued my role until May 2012.

I graduated in 2006 with a B.S. degree in Biology from MIT with interests in computational biology, computer science, and photography. I worked for MIT's Information Systems & Technology and was on the staff of the Image and Meaning workshop series, part of the Envisioning Science Program at Harvard's Initiative of Innovative Computing.

Since 2007, I have taught numerous courses at Harvard Extension and UC Berkeley.

Outside of work, I enjoy photography and climbing.
