Alexander Parker
Fourth-Grade Teacher
Alex is a fourth-grade teacher at Cossitt Avenue Elementary School in La Grange, Illinois. Outside of the classroom, Alex is a curriculum consultant for The Nora Project, a disability inclusion focused nonprofit. His research work for the organization led to him being named the 2019 Yale University Teacher Action Prize winner.
Alex is also a senior policy fellow for Teach Plus Illinois, where he helped co-create Teach to Change Illinois Now, an anti-bias/anti-racist toolkit for educators. As a policy fellow, he also worked on the development of the Illinois Virtual Instructional Coach and Building Mentor Program.
