When it comes to robot vacuums, no one has more expertise and knowledge about them other than iRobot. The company has invested a lot of research into making its vacuums smarter, which is reflective in their performances — but it’s also rare to find them discounted by a huge margin. Fortunately for all of us, that rare occasion is here right now with its flagship model, the iRobot Roomba s9+, which is currently discounted by $400.
The Roomba s9+ is very much in the same boat as Apple’s flagship iPhone, just because it’s chock-full of features that make it an impressive robot vacuum. This one, in particular, ensures nothing escapes its clutches because it features PerfectEdge technology that delivers 40x the suction power of other Roombas. Add to that, its VLSAM navigation gives it the vision to see its surroundings and make decisions on how best to avoid obstacles.
These two features both help make the iRobot Roomba s9+ a class-leading contender in the space. And you know what? It doesn’t waste time either because it efficiently cleans by navigating in a zig-zag pattern instead of aimlessly bumping into furniture and moving in a different direction. Even though it’s classified as a flagship robot vacuum, just know that it still requires proper maintenance to continue vacuuming effectively. Here are just a few tips on how to get the most out of it.
Remove tangled hair from its side brush
A single side-sweeping brush on the Roomba s9+ helps funnel debris towards the underside brush. After some use, however, it can be tangled by hair — causing it not to function effectively. You’ll need to ensure it’s free of it, and of course, replace it once the brush becomes too frizzled.

Replace the disposal bag
Sure, it’s wonderful that you don’t have to ever worry about emptying the robot’s dustbin since the self-emptying base does it, but the bag inside that’s used to store the debris needs to be changed at some point. It’s always handy to have a spare one on hand because you never know when it’s full.

Swap the roller brush when it’s worn out
Like the side-sweeping brush, the underside roller will eventually need a replacement because tough carpets and abrasive floors can do a number on it. Although, iRobot can engineer a solid brush because it doesn’t fall victim to frequently being tangled like your traditional roller.
