Supporting Our Veterans

We partner with several government and private organizations to support the professional development of active and former service members ready to build and/or transition into rewarding civilian careers.

At Lockheed Martin, we have a long-standing commitment to successful job transition for America's veterans — providing opportunities for them to continue contributing to the security of our nation even after their military service. And we are grateful to our partners that help make the transition easier. Learn more about the ways we proudly demonstrate our appreciation by assisting with your career transition.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes (HOH)

Lockheed Martin’s partnership with Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) strengthens our 100+ year commitment to the military community by providing greater employment opportunities for veterans, service members and military spouses. Alongside Hiring Our Heroes, we assist the military community in finding meaningful civilian careers by contributing to and participating in career summits and hiring events as well as the Corporate Fellowship Programs.

We have hosted more than 100 fellowship candidates at Lockheed Martin since 2017, and our contributions to the program have enabled many more fellowships for military members and military spouses. Lockheed Martin also serves on the HOH Veterans Employment Advisory Council, through which we establish best practices for veteran employment, provide military transition mentoring, and deliver military hiring assistance to businesses across the U.S.

Student Veterans of America (SVA)

Since 2018, Lockheed Martin has partnered with the Student Veterans of America (SVA) in helping those returning from military service obtain the resources, support, mentorship and advocacy needed to achieve success in higher education, internships and gainful employment after graduation.

Lockheed Martin demonstrates this commitment with financial support to various SVA programs, to include hosting SVA Student Leadership Summits, mentoring Student Veterans on college campuses across the country, supporting the SVA’s development of programs to place Student Veterans Career Services Liaisons on college campuses and sponsoring the Student Veterans National Conference, annually.

Lockheed Martin is represented on the Student Veterans of America’s Business and Industry Roundtable. To learn more about Student Veterans of America, visit: https://studentveterans.org/.

American Corporate Partnership (ACP)

Our partnership with American Corporate Partners (ACP) enables Lockheed Martin to assist returning veterans and active duty spouses with finding their next careers by contributing to ACP programs, and through “hands on service” by our Lockheed Martin employee mentors.

Lockheed Martin mentors use their own experience and resources to assist ACP military community protégés with a focus on finding meaningful employment opportunities which are the best fit for the protégés’ skills and career goals. Lockheed Martin ACP Mentors and protégés are paired based on a variety of considerations including shared career interests, location, age, and gender.

Each pair is encouraged to speak at least once a month to discuss career development topics such as résumé review, interview preparation, professional networking, and career advancement.
