Alexander the Iron Fist Questline

Where to Find Alexander the Iron Fist

To find Alexander the Iron Fist, head to the Saintsbridge Site of Grace in the Northern part of Limgrave. Head west, up the path, heading in the direction of the Warmaster's Shack. As you go through this path, you'll hear someone asking for help. Head up the cliff, backtracking on yourself to go back towards Saintsbridge as you do. When you reach the top, you'll see a pot sticking out from the ground.
As you approach him, he'll introduce himself and ask you for your help in freeing him from the hole in the ground. A few hits with your weapon will dislodge him and he'll reward you with exalted flesh.
Keep talking to him until the dialogue repeats itself and he'll tell you where he'll be heading next - Redmane Castle.
At Redmane Castle
At this point, Alexander the Iron Fist's Questline links to:
Redmane Castle holds the festival that Alexander referred to when you freed him. But when you visit the castle, you might find there's no festival taking place and that there are a significant number of enemies. You can only trigger the festival as part of the Ranni The Witch Questline.

This gives you access to Seluvis in his rise and Blaidd will move to Siofra River. You must first speak to Blaidd in Siofra and then speak to Seluvis as instructed by Blaidd (and by doing this you'll also start the Seluvis Questline). Once you've returned to Blaidd again, he'll tell you that the next place he'll see you is in Redmane Castle, to help you fight against Starscourge Radahn. Alexander the Iron Fist is also someone you can summon during this battle.
Alexander the Iron First in Liurnia
You'll find Alexander trapped again in Liurnia of the Lakes, just south of the Carian Study Hall. He'll be crying out for help again, and ask you to smack him to get him out of the hole. When you do this twice, he'll say that his lower half is stuck on something, so hitting him won't work but you'll need something to slide him out. For this, you'll need an oil pot. You can craft these if you've purchased the Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [17] from the Merchant in Siofra River. You'll need Melted Mushrooms and a Cracked Pot to craft one.
Throw the oil pot at Alexander, then hit him again until he pops out of the hole. He'll give you three Exalted Flesh as a reward and tells you that he'll head to the fiery mount in the north.
Alexander the Iron First in Mt. Gelmir
On the eastern side of Mt. Gelmir, by the lava pool just past Volcano Manor, you can find a Magma Wyrm. Alexander is in the pool of lava, towards the east, by the mountain.
Speak to him and he'll give you a jar helmet and hint that he's going eastwards, towards the Mountaintops of the Giants.
