Important report from about library vendor 's contracts with ICE that explicitly skirt sanctuary laws. Sanctuary libraries and university campuses must work together to take back our crucial services from big corporations and vendors.

If you work in libraries, someone has doubtless sent you the line about how a search engine can bring you millions of results but a librarian can bring you the right one. The line is a little tired, but the point about human intelligence vs. AI is sometimes right on. /1

As many school years wind down (and instructors start thinking about the next semester), our friends remind us how Open Educational Resources (in contrast to expensive textbooks and licensed databases) help students, faculty, and education.

Whether you regard them as sacred texts or cultural objects, the influence of the Hebrew and Christian bibles (as well as the world's many other religious texts) is undeniable. And without all the people who worked to preserve and share them, many would be lost to us forever. /1
