The Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme was appointed by resolution by the House of Representatives on 26 July 2022 and the Senate on 27 July 2022. The committee is composed of 5 Members and 5 Senators.

Inquiries into specific aspects of the Scheme

The committee occasionally undertakes inquiries into specific aspects of the Scheme. These inquiries are advertised on the committee's webpage and circulated around disability networks. When the committee undertakes such an inquiry, it will invite submissions from individuals and organisations.

NDIS General Issues Inquiry

The committee will also seek information about the implementation, performance, governance, administration and expenditure of the NDIS through its ongoing General Issues Inquiry.

In particular, the committee invites submissions and information from participants, their carers and family members, service providers and registered providers.

Individual cases

Submissions outlining details of individual cases or complaints may assist the committee in identifying broader systemic issues for investigation. However, the committee is not in a position to provide advice on individual circumstances, nor is it able to overturn or remake decisions made by the National Disability Insurance Agency. People with concerns about these matters should contact the National Disability Insurance Agency directly.
