2022 General Election: Son of former PM calls on party to refrain from a coalition with FFP

The son and namesake of former prime minister and Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) founder and leader, Laisenia Qarase, has called on the Social Democratic Liberal Party management board to refrain from forming a coalition with the FijiFirst Party (FFP).

In an emotional video message on the ‘Fiji Remembers the Late Hon. Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase’ Facebook page, he said if his father was still alive he would never have entertained the thought of forming a coalition with FFP.

He said he felt he had a right to express his family’s thoughts as they were still recovering from the manner in which he was ousted from power.
