LET us not let politics divide us.

This is the plea from Momo na Tui Ba Ratu Filimoni Nale Lagivala.

His comment followed the recent statement by the Fiji Police Force that they have called on the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to assist in operations amidst reports of alleged threats against minority groups in Fiji.

“Under God, we are one despite races or colour,” Ratu Filimoni said.

“We are all Fijians and this is something we need to consider, no one person is of a higher status than the other, we need to love and care for each other.

“To my brothers and sisters, Fijians of Indian descent, let me assure you all, you are safe here in the Ba Province and we will always protect you, this is your home.”

Ratu Filimoni, 78, said he was a staunch FijiFirst supporter, however, he would accept any outcome.

The Ba chief said it was important for Fijians to always consider the fact that they were loving people and people of other races were always safe in Fiji, a place they have always called home.
