Summary

Description 80-G-465329: Lieutenant Clifton A. Sprague, USN. Nicknamed “Ziggy”, he later led Task Unit 77.4.3 (Taffy III) during the Battle off Samar. Sprague retired in August 1951 and was promoted to Vice Admiral on the retired list. He died on April 11, 1955. Photographed September 17, 1923. (2015/10/27).
