NGC 7713 is a barred spiral galaxy with extensive Hubble-type SBcd star-forming regions that is located in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky. It is estimated to be 31 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light-years in diameter. The Type II supernova SN 1982L was observed inside of the galaxy.[1][2][3]
The object was discovered by John Herschel on October 4, 1836.[4]
