Shtit is a village in the municipality of Svilengrad, in Haskovo Province, in southern Bulgaria.[1] Its current name (Bulgarian: Щит [ʃtit]) dates to 1934; prior to that, it was known as Skutari (Greek: Σκούταρι [ˈskutari]).
