De Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre

Un iodato o yodato es una sal del ácido iódico. Su fórmula molecular es IO3-. El yodato es el anión formado por el ácido yódico.

Los iodatos pueden obtenerse reduciendo periodatos con un tioéter; el subproducto de esta reacción es un sulfóxido.[1]​

Los iodatos son compuestos similares a los cloratos, pero estos últimos poseen cloro en lugar de iodo.

los iodatos se pueden notar fácilmente ante su reacción con los sulforacidos y su nomenclatura
