This is a longitudinal study of the identity process through times of dramatic social change. Using a narrative psychological approach this research follows the life stories of five Egyptian bloggers as they write their stories on online blogs over the course of the three years following the 2011 revolution, at which time Egypt has witnessed major social and political changes. The aim is to understand the identity process of individuals as they develop and adapt through changing social contexts and how they create alternative social relations as they engage in prefigurative politics. The findings shed light on how ruptures trigger a process of reflexivity, adaptive learning, and sense-making that facilitates coping and the reconstruction of a positive identity after ruptures. It also suggests that the narration of the experience of rupture through storytelling creates a heightened sense of agency in individuals' ability to create new meanings of their world in spite of the socio-cultural and political constraints. This study presents narratives as an informing methodological resource that connects identity process with social representations and emphasizes the value of storytelling as an integral part of the adaptation process.

Se presentan los resultados del plan de medios sociales de la Plataforma Latina de Revistas de Comunicación (PlatCom) integrada por 8 revistas académicas fundacionales y dos revistas honoríficas consorciadas. El estudio refleja la actividad desplegada en los últimos cinco años (2013-2017). El objetivo es describir la estrategia llevada a cabo en las redes sociales para difundir los artículos académicos y las actividades de PlatCom, así como cuantificar y valorar la interactividad generada y su contribución en los procesos de visibilidad científica. La singularidad de la incitativa reside en la gestión de carácter conjunto y mancomunado realizada para varias revistas de forma simultánea. Se realiza un estudio exploratorio descriptivo comparativo e interanual. El procedimiento consideró la recopilación anual de datos cuantitativos sobre las mismas variables para habilitar la comparación y facilitar la identificación de tendencias o posibles mejoras a realizar.  Para ello, se utilizaron los datos extraídos mediante Google Analytics en los medios propios de PlatCom: el blog, dos redes sociales de carácter generalista (Facebook y Twitter) y dos redes sociales de ámbito académico (Academia.edu y Mendeley). En este periodo, las redes sociales y el blog fueron gestionadas a diario por una profesional especialista en Social Media. Las variables consideradas han sido: las visualizaciones o visitas, las descargas y el número de seguidores.  La conclusión principal del estudio revela que las redes sociales y el blog son muy útiles a la hora de difundir los artículos académicos. Academia.edu obtiene los mejores resultados como red social para artículos académicos. Facebook y Twitter exigen un tipo de comunicación más distendida en el diseño de los mensajes. Como acción futura se sugiere incorporar Social Ads como herramienta de segmentación precisa para llegar al público objetivo que nosotros deseamos y estudiar la relación entre métricas alternativas y citación del artículo.

Аннотация. В статье проанализировано медиапространство Грузии, прежде всего его тенденции с 2016 по 2020 г.: основные предпочтения и спрос аудитории на традиционные и новые медиа. Актуальность темы обусловлена тем, что Национальное агентство статистики Грузии до сих пор не проводило широких исследований в сфере медиа, отчеты и рейтинги составляются отдельными международными фондами, которые не рассматривают медиарынок в Грузии в целом, в связи с чем эти исследования носят несистемный характер. Таким образом, цель исследования-выявить основные изменения в области медиапотребления Грузии по следующим категориям: печать, телевидение, радио и новые медиа. Пандемия коронавируса ускорила цифровизацию грузинских медиа, усугубив кризис в сфере печати и сделав интернет-площадки более привлекательными для крупных холдингов и независимых авторов в условиях экономического спада на медиарынке и оптимизации. Для выявления данных были использованы методы контент-анализа, наблюдения и социологического опроса. Особое внимание в статье уделено тенденциям, возникшим на медиарынке Грузии с начала пандемии,-основным динамичным изменениям грузинского сегмента Facebook, развитию жанра карикатуры и предпочтениям пользователей социальных сетей. Исследование охватило целый ряд факторов, влияющих на медиапотребление Грузии: возраст потребителей информации, их географическое и социальное положение, национальный менталитет, а также уровень религиозности. Полученные результаты демонстрируют высокую степень медиатизации религии в Грузии, проявляющуюся в том, что церковь стала лидером мнений, определяющим точку зрения большинства относительно темы пандемии коронавируса. Согласно результатам проведенного опроса, население Грузии стало больше смотреть телевизор и чаще слушать радио. Повысился уровень интереса к социальным сетямв частности, к блогам-как на грузинском, так и на русском языке.

ABSTRACT

The Internet as a worldwide literacy practice environment has created a new situation in communication, providing a new dynamic field for research. On the basis of the two articles under discussion, this commentary develops three main aspects of the Internet: as an informal learning environment for English as a second/foreign language; as a discursive space where identities are formed and social relationships are negotiated; and, as a space where the intermingling of the global and the local gives rise to hybrid language varieties. Taking into account that electronic environments are not neutral literacy practice environments but are involved in a complex nexus of power structures and relations that also need to be explored, this paper briefly addresses issues related to theoretical and methodological approaches for the study of language varieties in the Internet.

A contemporary history of higher education in the United States is being written on the Internet. Academic bloggers interrupt and circumvent the infl uence of professional associations over debates about unemployment, contingent labor, publishing,
tenure review, and other aspects of creating and maintaining a scholarly career. On the Internet, limited status and prestige, as well as one’s invisibility as a colleague, are no barrier to acquiring an audience within the profession or creating a contemporary archive of academic labor struggles. At a moment of fi nancial and political crisis for universities, these virtual historians have increasingly turned their critical faculties to scrutinizing, critiquing, and documenting the neoliberal university. Although blogging has not displaced established sources of intellectual prestige, virtual historians are engaged in the project of constructing their own scholarly identities and expanding what counts as intellectual and political labor for scholars excluded from the world of full-time employment.

Blogging has been popular for at least the past decade, and is increasingly being used as a learning tool (Deng & Yuen, 2011). In many ways, as a largely-text based form, a blog post does not differ greatly from traditional written work that a student might do. However it offers considerable flexibility in terms of access and editing, and the potential for a more interactive form of learning.
For these reasons, I decided to try replacing over two-thirds of my usual homework tasks in Higher Psychology this year with a blog format. I also had one eye on the potential - with the introduction of a new Scottish Higher syllabus and its more flexible internal assessments - to use blogs for internal assessment in future years.

Apresentamos as dinâmicas que perpassam o “fenômeno dos blogs street style” enquanto movimento digital e enquanto negócio, cujos interlocutores redefiniram diferentes processos e estratégias para o mercado e a comunicação de moda desde 2006. Especificamente, traçamos as fases do fenômeno em termos históricos, lógicas estéticas e movimentos editoriais, além de estudar os blogs como peças-chave na produção de uma estética urbana e os blogueiros como figuras responsáveis por reelaborar a flânerie da modernidade.

Since the 16th century, essayists such as Michel De Montaigne have been writing life’s minutiae; trying to find words to ‘portray passing…from day to day, from minute to minute’. Even in its earliest articulation the word essay expressed an intention to venture forth into unfamiliar territory. In recent years, blogs have become an avenue for previously silenced writers to publish their personal experiences and perspectives, and no more so than in the ever-growing sphere of ‘mummy bloggers’. Though the term has developed social currency, it has also begun to encompass any and all online writing by mothers and includes a spectrum of styles. This paper suggests a new reading of blogs by mothers, using essayist Vivian Gornick’s framework of ‘situation’ and ‘story’. By identifying the online writing which understands ‘why one is speaking’ and ‘who is speaking’, we are able to distinguish blogs that successfully utilise creative non-fiction techniques to articulate and advocate the voice of the mother. I argue that this approach best enables writers to, what maternal theorist Susan Maushart calls, ‘unmask motherhood’. In considering further the connections between the texts and life itself, the paper examines how digital representations reflect and help define or (re)shape the realities of women and families, and how mothering and being a mother are political, personal and creative narratives unfolding within the digital world. It aims to illuminate how the writers construct their online maternal identities to subvert the scripts of their families, cultures and nations in their quest for self-knowledge, agency and artistic expression. The paper is therefore interested in the intersection between recent research in creative non-fiction practice and maternal scholarship. It is believed that together these disciplines can provide alternate interpretations of how writing mothers use digital spaces to negotiate, reconcile and resist traditional notions of mothering and maternal roles, and how they offer alternative matrifocal narratives for women and society. Finally the paper argues for a new category of ‘mummy bloggers’, what I term ‘maternal essayists’, to represent writers who engage in the practice of creative non-fiction writing to celebrate the centrality of mothering. Furthermore it is suggested that these women have been some of the most influential writers of the 21st century.

This paper explores material and philosophical conditions of
blogging in an Indian context. Elaborating the status of computerinternet-
blogosphere usage in India by citing from multiple sources
and personal observational analysis, Indian blogosphere has been
surfed.
In a society like India where media is in abundance (60,000+
print, 800+television channels, 1000+films, 300+ FM radio stations)
in multiple languages, new media is still in infancy and not very
relevant to the large majority. With over a decade and half of existence,
the blogosphere and Indian bloggers are visible but they predominantly
belong to English-speaking, urban, elite, upper class. The situation
seems to be changing with the Unicode in Indian languages.
There have been sporadic regulatory attempts as well as
recognition of bloggers by the Indian State, media and corporate
houses in the recent past. Blogging also has lead to a variety of
social action initiatives as well as political turmoil. By 2014, networked
blogs and e-commerce wave the face of blogging and bloggers is
changing and Indian blogosphere entered new era after being
contested territory till a while ago.

In the present study we call attention to the close connection between languages and globalization, and we also emphasize the importance of the Internet and online websites in foreign language teaching and learning as unavoidable elements of computer assisted language learning (CALL). We prepared a checklist by which we investigated 28 foreign language teaching websites (4 from each of seven languages including English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish). The participants were 14 third-year university students who were enrolled in the French Language teaching department, but had a basic knowledge of the related languages that was sufficient to read and write. All the students had taken CALL classes at university level, and had previous experience of website evaluation and assessment. As a result of the analyses of the language teaching websites, we observed that they were lacking physically, contextually and pedagogically. Consequently, we built a model foreign language website frame considering the feedback that we received from the subjects. We believe that our website evaluation checklist and model website frame might greatly serve the CALL field.

Celem rozdziału jest zestawienie sprzecznych stanowisk dotyczących influencer marketingu w turystce. W przeprowadzonym badaniu, opartym o przegląd literatury oraz obserwację czterdziestu trzech polskich blogów podróżniczych, porównano opinie i postawy dotyczące influencer marketingu w turystyce, koncentrując się wokół dwóch obszarów. Pierwszym z nich była rola blogera przy podejmowaniu przez turystów decyzji dotyczących podróży, drugim zaś – autentyczność internetowego twórcy.
The aim of this chapter is a summary of conflicting opinions on the tourist's Influencer
Marketing. In the conducted study, based on a literature review and observation of forty tree Polish travel blogs, opinions and attitudes regarding the marketing tourism influencer focused on two areas were compared. The first of these was the role of tourists making travel decisions, while the second was influencers’ authenticity.

Blogs and online social networks are handy web 2.0 tools which can be easily incorporated into an academic library’s user service profile. The inherent features of these applications help library professionals to reach out to new generation users at their own space and time. Blogs are easy to create, maintain and cost free solutions to disseminate information on library resources and services. Social networks allow the library to facilitate collaborative learning and resource sharing. Emergence of social media as  an important channel for interaction, communication, collaboration, sharing and creation of new knowledge among the academic communities made it relevant for libraries also. The present paper discusses how blogs and social networks can be exploited as user centric service tools in academic libraries by studying the content and analysing the effectiveness of library blogs and social networks created and maintained by Kendriya Vidyalaya Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.

For publishers, blogs that enjoy a wide readership are new sources of talent that may be developed into potentially bestselling books (Nelson, 2006: 6; Pedersen, 2009: 98; Williams, 2010: 6). This blog to book or “blook” phenomenon is best exemplified in publications such as The Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl and Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously, blog-based books that went on to be cinematised (Pedersen, 2009: 95). Given the success of such publications, and the view that publishing a book is one way to monetise a blog, it is not surprising that for a number of individuals blogging is a logical first step to attracting a publisher’s attention and signing a book deal (Pedersen, 2009: 95; Williams, 2010: 7). Against this background, this paper examines how some travel bloggers who aspire to be traditionally published authors develop their blogs into books. The studies and the successful book deals mentioned earlier suggest that for their authors these travel blogs could possibly be a point of entry into the field of book publishing and facilitate access to recognised publishers of print books. Yet, for those unable to land a lucrative contract, self-publishing services such as Lulu offer a viable alternative to getting one’s name in print (Martin and Tian, 2012: 87). Taking a Goffmanian approach, this study considers the role of self-publishing in the evolution of a travel blog into a print book or e-book and its implications for a travel blogger’s presentation of self as a published author. It also examines travel blogs as narratives of self-presentation, which constantly negotiate discourses of travel and tourism, and finds that publishing a travel blog as a book commercialises these narratives and introduces an element of touristic discourse. Turning a blog into a book therefore has several implications for these bloggers’ presentation of the self as travellers and as published authors.

Da bi se supstanca mogla odrediti kolorimetrijski mora ispunjavati sledeće uslove:  intenzitet boje mora biti stabilan u dužem vremenskom intervalu,  boja mora biti intenzivna,  apsorpcija zračenja mora da se pokorava Lambert-Beerovom zakonu,  male promene temeprature, pH i drugih faktora ne smeju bitno da utiču na intenzitet boje. Ukoliko je intenzitet neke boje nedovoljan onda se dodatkom pogodnog reagensa može prevesti u intenzivnije obojeno jedinjenje. Boja koju ima rastvor neke supstance komplementarna je boji koju ta supstanca apsorbuje (na primer: bakar(II)-jon je bledoplave boje, što znači da apsorbuje u žutom delu spektra). Reagens u kolorimetriji mora da poseduje sledeće osobine:  reagens treba da reaguje stehiometrijski sa ispitivanom supstancom i uvek treba dodati dovoljnu i istu količinu reagensa u ispitivane rastvore i standarde,  reagens ne sme da apsorbuje u vidljivom delu spektra,  reagens mora biti selektivan u odnosu na ispitivanu supstancu,  boja nastalog proizvoda mora se brzo razvijati,  reagens ili ispitivana supstanca ne smeju da stupaju u reakcije sa drugim sastojcima u rastvoru koji ih mogu prevesti u neaktivne oblike ili kompleksno jedinjenje zbog čega bi izostalo razvijanje boje. U kolorimetriji se obično intenzitet boje nepoznatog rastvora uporeĎuje sa jednim ili više standardnih rastvora poznate koncentracije Spektrofotometrija je apsorpciona metoda koja se zasniva na praćenju zavisnosti apsorbance od talasne dužine zračenja koje je prošlo kroz analiziranu supstancu. Apsorpcija se može pratiti u UV, Vis, IC, mikrotalasnoj i radiofrekventnoj oblasti. Spektrofotometrijom su obuhvaćene kvalitativne i kvantitativne analize Kvalitativna analiza zasniva se na činjenici da apsorpcioni spektar supstance zavisi od njenog sastava i strukture. Na osnovu zavisnosti apsorpcije od talasne dužine i vrednosti apsorpcije na odreĎenoj talasnoj dužini moguće je identifikovati apsorbujuću supstancu. Kvantitativna analiza sa zasniva na Lambert-Beerovom zakonu: U optici, Lambert-Beerov zakon povezuje apsorpciju svetlosti sa karakteristikama materijala (supstance, jedinjenja) kroz koju je propuštena svetlost, što je ilustrativno prikazano na slici 1.7. This study investigated grammatical errors in a corpus of 58 blog posts written by 58 participants through weblogs. It aimed to determine the views of students on the use of blogs in facilitating the acquisition of English writing skills, to identify, categorize, and analyze grammatical errors in students’ blog posts, and to explore students’ perceptions on the advantages of blogging as an alternative writing platform. The participants were freshman university students enrolled at a Study and Thinking Skills class at Lyceum of the Philippines University – Manila during the first semester of the academic year 2014-2015. Research data come from students’ blog posts, survey, and focus group interviews. Errors were first classified into seven major categories and then they were divided into subcategories. This poster shares insight from the past two semesters of teaching ANT 101: Human Nature/Human Culture, a gen-ed course that introduces the holistic discipline of Anthropology and fulfills the Self and Society requirement. Students engage in class participation through a closed WordPress blog and a course Twitter hashtag, #ANT101UWL. These digital components enable students to connect key anthropological concepts to their own real-world experiences, share ideas in real-time during lecture and discussion, and develop skills for responsible use of social media. Students generate original content, search for reliable educational sources online, share their findings, and comment on peers’ posts. Student-generated content is directly integrated in class lectures, fostering dialogue in a large class setting, rewarding successful achievement of learning outcomes, and promoting a student-centered approach to learning. Anthropologists today conduct fieldwork and research in online communities in addition to traditional venues, and they promote cultural awareness to the general public using social media like blogging and twitter. In #ANT101UWL students participate in digital anthropology by contributing personal insight to their online anthropology learning community and sharing their experiences with digital followers outside of the classroom.
