My previous monographs justifying architecture as the making of metaphors were steeped in deductive formal reasoning since we could not find new research about metaphors. Many of my monographs included analyzing and explaining the syllogism:
• Art [F] is the making of metaphors
• Architecture is an art[F]
• Therefore architecture is the making of metaphors.
Till now we did nothing to informally reason why art is the making of metaphors nor why architecture is an art. Since 1967 I proceeded to analyze the presumptions and find its many applications. This new information in Metaphor and Thought by Andrew Ortony first published in 1979, evidence to support inductive reasoning and to this end each axiom is its own warrant to the inferences of the above syllogism and the answer to questions of why metaphor is the stasis to any of the syllogism’s claims and implications. This argument now assumes that what is true for the parts is true for whole, where any one axiom is true the claim is true and the collective axioms and claims support the resolution that architecture is the making of metaphors.
While aesthetics is a guiding principle in matters of artistic [F] beauty and taste, metaphor is the analogy to taste and is used to form works of art and architecture.
William Wilson said that "a generous Age of Aquarius aesthetic that said that everything was art” It was during this time that we conceived the theory (architecture is an art because it makes metaphors) and held the lecture series at Yale. Most definitions of aesthetics concern the appreciation of beauty or good taste including the basis for making such judgments. Without a theory of metaphors these judgments mostly deal with probability and are inductive or deductive, deductive when depending on accepted premises which is the commonplace of the metaphor or inductive using logical induction. Inductive reasoning is inductive inference from the observed to the unobserved. It was given its classic formulation by David Hume, who noted that such inferences typically rely on the assumption that the future will resemble the past, or on the assumption that events of a certain type are necessarily connected, via a relation of causation, to events of another type.
In argumentation [A] it is noted that in an induction there is no new information added. In both methods the metaphor is at their root and as such the basis of aesthetics and as such essential to understand the stasis to what makes all arts the making of metaphors and how that Wilson’s statement is true for everything as most are metaphorical as well. The matter then is one of standards, social rightness and the ability any one or another work has an explanation of its form.
Architecture as the making of metaphors not only is the stasis to why architecture is art but also explains the formation of architectural aesthetic vocabulary.
The below is predominantly developed from a study of “Metaphors and Thought” by Andrew Ortony, [1] and, is in addition to over forty years of my work about “architecture as the making of metaphors. It is my hope that this monograph will introduce to aesthetics an architectural vocabulary to appreciate works of architecture.

The fast spread of computer networks and broadband Internet access, and also the development of different operating systems, makes possible to use different virtualization techniques and virtual machines. The release and spread of virtualization platforms makes possible the development of cost-effective information systems that can provide in addition dynamic resource management and simplified system administration.In this paper we present a comparative performance analysis of Remote Desktop Virtualization based on Hyper-V versus Remote Desktop Services. We introduce system architecture for the two tested scenario and test environment including detailed hardware description.The main conclusions of the paper are that despite the higher acquisition and maintenance costs, the Remote Desktop Services outperforms the Hyper-V based Remote Desktop Virtualization in memory, CPU and also storage management.

Para llevar a cabo el trabajo empírico sobre temas macro-micro-macro, es indispensable tener modelos estadísticos que reflejen de manera plausible la estructura de los datos y las relaciones teóricas en la base de tales cuestiones. Una familia básica de modelos para los efectos macro-micro es ofrecida por el análisis multinivel. Una manera importante de estudiar las transiciones micro-macro es mediante simulación. Los modelos sobre redes proponen otra perspectiva, particularmente apropiada, a los temas macro-micro-macro. Los modelos de redes representan, de manera más sutil que los modelos multinivel, que lo que puede ser observado a nivel macro es el resultado de fenómenos a nivel micro, mientras que estos fenómenos están condicionados por el nivel macro. El uso de modelos estadísticos apropiados para redes, con atención suficiente al ajuste del modelo, puede conducir a progresos importantes en nuestra comprensión de las cuestiones macro-micro-macro. Sin embargo, esto es más una promesa de cara al futuro que un logro del pasado. Una razón de importancia mayor de las limitaciones en el estado actual del arte es que las cuestiones de retroalimentación (feedback) que son esenciales en cómo operan las redes, son extremadamente difíciles de expresar en modelos estadísticos de forma operativa y plausible. En los modelos para una única observación (en un momento dado) de una red social, la dimensión temporal de la retroalimentación es aplastada, lo que conduce a dificultades graves tanto de cara a la interpretación como al modelado matemático. A pesar de que modelar observaciones en un momento dado de las redes sociales es todavía necesario y útil, es posible ganar en comprensión a partir de observaciones repetidas de redes sociales (en varios momentos diferentes). Si tal modelo dinámico incluyese, no sólo las relaciones entre actores, pero también los atributos cambiantes de los actores (por ejemplo, las actitudes, comportamientos, resultados) y las pautas englobantes de los contextos sociales en que las redes se encuentran inmersas, capturaría una gran parte de lo que consideramos como procesos macro-micro-macro. Tal modelo integrado no existe todavía, pero se están llevando a cabo avances hacia la construcción de este tipo de modelo.

Level US4 of the Bois-de-Riquet archeological site represents a mudslide type deposit dating to the early Middle Pleistocene. It has yielded a rich lithic assemblage made from basalt, aplite and quartz, whose components represent all of the operating chains of production: cores, flakes, hammers, worked cobbles and blocks, as well as a biface. The latter, associated with the production of large flakes, testifies to the first phases of the European Acheulian. This article presents the analysis of part of the macro-tools made from basalt. The methodology is based on a techno-morpho-functional and traceological analysis of the artefacts, coupled with the creation of a specific experimental frame of reference. This work aims to enhance and validate a systematic approach for the structural finite element (FE) analysis of thermoplastic impregnated 3D filament winding structures (fiber skeletons). The idealized modeling of geometrically complex fiber skeletons used in previous publications is refined by considering additional characteristic dimensions and investigating their mechanical influence. Moreover, the modeling approach is transferred from the meso- to the macro-level in order to reduce modeling and computational effort. The properties of meso- and macro-level FE models are compared using the example of simple loop specimens. Based on the results, respective application fields are defined. In the next step, the same modeling approach is applied to a more complex, three-dimensional specimen—the inclined loop. Happiness is an essential universal human goal in their life that can improve the quality of life. Since the introduction of positive psychology, the primary consideration has been pointed out to the study of the role from certain factors in predicting the happiness, especially the advancement of technology that allows computer-mediated to be part of human interaction. It provides a multidimensional approach and indirect influence to the human expression and communication. The project investigates what it takes to build a happy country by analysing on the relationship between the happiness ranking of countries and their macro level factors. The World Happiness Report 2019 is used coupled with Python programming for visualizing and extracting information from the dataset to better understand the bigger picture.

The negative effect of inflation on the output growth rate has been found in panel studies that avoid biases of previous cross section work. Theoretically this effect is supported qualitatively by endogenous growth exchange economies. Related research examines Tobin-type effects of inflation on the levels of various variables, such as capital usage. A coherent explanation of both growth and level effects theoretically still is lacking. We present a model to do this and find an explanation for both the growth effect and a set of inflation-induced phenomena that can be thought of as a revised Tobin effect. A basic link between the magnitude of the growth and the level effects is the degree to which inflation affects the real wage to real interest rate ratio, and this depends on the magnitude of the interest elasticity of money demand. This paper presents a Romanian language phonetic transcription web service and application built using Java technologies, on the top of the Phonetisaurus G2P, a Word Finite State Transducer (WFST)-driven Grapheme-to-Phoneme Conversion toolkit.We used NaviRO Romanian language pronunciation dictionary for WFST model training, and MIT Language Modeling (MITLM) toolkit to estimate the needed joint sequence n-gram language model.Dictionary evaluation tests are also included in the paper.The service can be accessed for educational, research and other non-commercial usage at http://users.utcluj.ro/~jdomokos/naviro/.

The black economy is once again a headline in the news and discussions following the announcement of demonetization of the large-denomination currency notes in India in November 2016. The notion that demonetization can tackle the black economy is a result of the incorrect understanding that the black economy is all cash. The black economy is the single biggest problem confronting India since 1970s. In India, it was estimated to be 62 percent of GDP for 2012-13. If it is assumed to be the same in 2017-18, the black economy amounts to Rs.103.99 lakh crore. Hence it cannot be ignored. In 1955-56, it was estimated by Prof. Kaldor to be 4-5 percent of GDP. Its growth has been rapid and it is intertwined with the white economy and results in growing inefficiencies. The black economy is one of the biggest reasons for the failure of state policies-the result of which is that society is unable to achieve its goals. It impacts all the micro-and-macro variables-inflation is higher and the trade deficit larger, the savings rate rises while the investment rate falls; employment is lower than potentially possible, and the rate of growth below the potential and ultimately sets back development. There is a paucity of white economy data, because of the existence of a substantial black economy in India. Its non-inclusion in analysis results in a partial understanding of the economy and often incorrect policy pronouncements. The need to incorporate the black economy is not simply an empirical matter, but a theoretical necessity. This paper in general tries to give some conceptual and theoretical understanding of the concept of the black economy in India. The empirical section of the paper explains the significance of the black economy as a variable to be included in the analysis to get a better understanding of the economy.

Epidemiological transition other than demographic transition is a universal phenomenon across the countries and India is no exception. Reduced mortality at early age and increasing longevity has shifted the leading cause of death from communicable diseases (CDs) to non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Even as NCDs and other ailments take centre stage, the unfinished agenda of communicable diseases needs attention. Further, there is a possibility that this change in increasing NCDs has not occurred equally across social and ethnic lines in the country. The changing disease pattern is also associated with increasing healthcare costs; although there may be variation across social and economic lines. The economic consequences of changing pattern of diseases put an additional burden on households and families both directly and indirectly with loss of household income, out of pocket expenditure, and burden of distress financing (Mclntyre et al, 2006). The economic burden increases when services are not available or provided by government forcing them to either seek treatment from private health facilities or remain untreated. This economic burden of health care on patients is greatly affected by the social groups to which they belong.

The paper deals with the design of a new plasma diagnostic system consisting of a microcontroller based power supply for automatic control of the measurement using Langmuir probe, the communication interface of the power supply and the signal processing program. The main motivation for the design of the automated plasma diagnostic system was given by our research in different methods of plasma nitriding of steels. During the nitriding process, it is important to achieve information about the plasma, which is the medium where the heat-treatment process is going on. The new diagnostic system is able to perform measurements during the nitriding process, thus we can analyze the plasma at different temperatures and gas mixtures. The obtained voltage-current curves are recorded and transmitted to the computer, where further signal processing is performed. The paper presents the design of the power supply, the measurement results and the developed signal processing software.

The paper proposes a comparative FEM analysis of gears solid model bodies, obtained with three different methods. The analytical method is based on the mathematical equations of the tooth flanks. It supposed to be the most accurate and precise solid modeling process. However, it reveals it’s limits by handling of surfaces that are not deduced mathematically, or in case of tooth geometries which needs to be modified in order to perform a quick test regarding the probably effects of the mentioned modifications. This paper examines macro and micro-level mechanisms that facilitate scaling an industrial ecosystem. Case study methods are used to study the Indian renewable energy sector. The paper develops a framework derived from an analysis of 18 semi-structured interviews and published data, drawing on the national innovation systems literature and institutions combined with research on industrial and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Four propositions are derived from findings that highlight the role of policy innovation and strategies adopted by start-up and established organizations in shaping the development of the solar and renewable energy ecosystem in India. The paper provides insights on scaling an industrial ecosystem to help executives and policymakers in designing ecosystems for sunrise industries.
