This paper describes the fault diagnosis and detection methodology for electric vehicle, and its fault severity criteria studied together. Detailed fault studied for transmission, PMSM motor, driveline, and thermal management system. The possible fault of the various subsystems, which influence the vehicle performance & range are listed together to differentiate faulty and Health mode. The successful initiation and execution of a virtual team is gaining increasing attention in the design and construction community. From opportunities to integrate international and multidisciplinary teams to the opportunity to leverage the best resources in an organization on a given project, virtual teams can transform the concept of project planning and execution. However, potential barriers exist in several areas to the successful implementation of virtual teams. The needs of increased management emphasis, social and cultural understanding, and emphasis on common goals are only a few of the nontechnical factors that can turn successful virtual teaming into virtual frustration. When combined with traditional technical challenges including compatibility of systems, security, and the selection of appropriate technologies, the line between leveraging virtual technologies for enhanced solutions and introducing additional complications into the project process is one that can be easily crossed. This paper presents the findings of research that addresses the opportunities and potential barriers to successful virtual teams in the engineering, procurement, and construction industry. Combining results from current research, industry practices, and early results from nonconstruction industries, the research findings provide an initial path to successful virtual team implementation.

The world is facing an enormous challenge to provide sufficient quantity of clean energy to its burgeoning population. Energy is a fundamental asset for enabling socio economic development and poverty eradication in any country. Nepal has been suffering from the chaotic energy crisis for about a decade now despite having a potential for generating 43,000 MW of hydroelectricity , 2,100 MW of solar power, and 3,000 MW of wind power. A normal life of its citizens is being crippled with long hours of load shedding and never ending queues in front of the gas stations reflecting the state of the energy-hungry country. This paper gives a perspective on the energy crisis in Nepal in order to point out how serious the problem is and also presents some ways how to obtain an immediate relieve through the use of green energy commodities. In addition, the strategic advantages to potential investors are explored that encourage investments into national priority projects facilitated by the progressive policies of the Government of Nepal.

The term ‘lean’ production refers to elimination of waste both within the firm and across the supply chain. Toyota Corporation was the first to comprehensively adopt the lean methodology. Since then leading manufacturing organizations have embraced this philosophy to acquire a competitive edge in the global market. This paper reports performance improvement at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW, Pakistan) achieved through the implementation of six lean system tools (5S, SMART Obj., RCA. 5 Whys, Kaizen, JIT and Poka Yoke with support of CAPA). KSEW operation had historically suffered from work delay, cost overruns, material wastage, low manpower utilization, and low worker morale. The implementation of lean production tools at KSEW minimized work order delays, eliminated breakdowns, increased work space, and reduced sorting time, rework and material waste. As previously idle manpower and machinery were productively utilized, the product quality, skill set of employees, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance all registered improvements. The following report on KSEW presents a case study on adoption of lean production in the port and shipping sector.
