Wireless mesh network (WMN) has become an important leading technology which provides several types of useful applications such as community network, broadband home network and internet access, etc. The rise in the size of users in WMN has created a degradation of efficiency in a network especially in dense areas due to the clumsy channel allocation and hence creating many challenges for enhancing the users experience, network quality and throughput. Therefore in this paper, we proposed OCA based AIF model that can access the channel information and then it process to improve the RF channel association. The proposed OCA-AIF will function for each period when some interference is detected via AIF and we further extend this analysis by taking in to consideration the influence of interference to provide a high quality indicator in network. The analysis of result shows the optimization by our proposed approach which increases as per the increment of relay nodes (RNs).

Cross-channel free-riding, in which consumers use one retailer′s channel to prepare a purchase and then switch to another retailer′s channel to purchase, can substantially erode profit margins. This research aims to understand such free-riding from a consumer empowerment perspective, investigating shopping motives and sociodemographic covariates, as well as how this behavior might differ across product categories. A survey study of decision-making behavior shows that cross-channel free-riders mainly seek to fulfill price comparison, convenience and flexibility needs. The likelihood of free-riding is higher when consumers adopt cross-channel rather than single-channel behavior, which highlights a negative outcome of multichannel retailing. The likelihood of cross-channel free-riding differs across products but not sociodemographic covariates. The findings can be used to develop recommendations for managing retention strategies.

Szakdolgozatom célja a többcsatornás értékesítési rendszerek témakörének bemutatása és várható jövőbeli fejlődési irányainak felvázolása volt.

A többcsatornás értékesítési rendszereket az autóipar kontextusában mutattam be és kitértem arra is, hogy az iparágban várhatóan végbemenő komoly változások miként alakítják majd át az értékesítés csatornáit.

Dolgozatom önálló kutatást is tartalmaz melynek célja a Ford Motor Company értékesítési rendszerének bemutatása valamint az online autóvásárlásra és az alternatív mobilitási szolgáltatásokra mutatkozó fogyasztói igény felmérése volt.

A kérdőíves kutatásomból kiderült, hogy a korábban autóvásárlásban már részt vett válaszadók a kereskedések látogatásánál és a kiszemelt autó tesztvezetésénél sokkal több időt töltenek online kereséssel, információszerzéssel, és előzetes kiválasztással. Ennek ellenére a kiszemelt autóba való beülés és annak tesztvezetése jelentik a legfontosabb döntési tényezőket a vásárláskor.

A megkérdezettek ugyan hajlandóak lennének online vásárlásra, de leginkább egy vegyes (omnichannel) modellt preferálnának. A vegyes modellben a vásárló az interneten előre kiválasztott autót élőben is megnézheti, tesztvezetheti, hogy így erősítse meg az online meghozott döntését.

Az autóhelyettesítő alternatívák közül a válaszadók a telekocsit, a saját biciklit, motort és a közösségi közlekedést tartották a leghatékonyabbnak. A kérdőívet kitöltők kétharmada használna a jövőben autómegosztási illetve rugalmas bérlési szolgáltatásokat saját autójuk kiváltására. Az autómegosztás esetében a 39 évnél fiatalabbak, a budapestiek, és az autóval nem rendelkezők használnának legszívesebben ilyen szolgáltatásokat.

Purpose: This paper aims to analyse selected aspects of the marketing strategy of the first and biggest network of self-service shops with organic products in Poland – Organic Farma Zdrowia. Methodology: The adopted methodology involves a qualitative approach. The case study is based on an analysis of company documents and marketing communication, especially that offered on its website and in its social media channels. Findings: The company specializes in distribution of organic products in Poland. It has gone through organic growth, acquisitions, attracting a Dutch investment fund, and entering the NewConnect stock exchange. It operates based on the model of multichannel distribution, combining physical and online retailing. The assortment consists of 4,000 products, including organic food, cosmetics, and cleaning aids. The company has managed to create 3 own label product lines. The online retailer belonging to the company (organic24.pl) is organized in a professional way, although some improvements are possible. In 2015, the company engaged in ambitious marketing projects. Practical implications: The findings may be useful for the Organic Farma Zdrowia company as certain modifications in its marketing communication are recommended. Other companies operating in the sector may also benefit from the analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the business in question. Furthermore, our case study may offer a framework of reference for researchers interested in this area. Originality: This is the first study to examine the strategy and marketing activities of Organic Farma Zdrowia, a major player in the sector of organic food distribution in Poland.

Ambisonics was developed in the 1970’s as a flexible, psycho-acoustically aware system1.  Developed at the same time as Quadraphonics2, Ambisonics is an often mis-understood system that was far ahead of it’s time.  Due to the ubiquity of surround sound equipment in modern computers and interest in live surround events becoming more widespread, is the time, finally, right for Ambisonics to come into its’ own?

In this paper, the definition of what makes a system Ambisonic is clarified with reference made to the traditional energy and velocity vector theory, higher order systems and use in both the live and domestic environment.  More recent developments by the author are discussed with respect to irregular Ambisonic decoder design (such as for the ITU 5.1 speaker array) and analysis using Head Related Transfer Function data showing the extra insight this can give into the performance of one, seemingly similar, decoder design over another.  The freely available suite of VST plug-ins (comprising of decoders, panners and an Ambisonic reverb) created using this technology are also presented, with case studies of their use in student projects at the University of Derby.

Could the difficulties that retailers face in creating a seamless, cross-channel experience be due to the fact that their stores and website activate such different central and peripheral routes to persuasion that perfect transferability between channels is not possible?
By relying on a rigorous and innovative dual-step methodology, this study provides a solid support for research aimed at identifying other channel-related central and peripheral elements.
Although perceptual structure of the two channels is very similar, the store and website have no central or peripheral dimension in common. To enhance fluidity between its channels, a multi-channel retailer cannot rely on the customers'
perceived integration of its channels. However, the retailer can easily orient its customers toward a given channel, by appealing to their enduring involvement. Finally, pricing and sales promotions are both peripheral dimensions: the former influences in-store buying and the latter, website buying.

"In this article, the authors propose that in a multichannel environment, evaluative conflicts (dissynergies) between service channels exist. Building on status quo bias theory, they develop a model that relates offline channel satisfaction to perceptions about a new self-service channel. Data were collected from 639 customers currently using offline investment banking. Results show that offline channel satisfaction reduces the perceived usefulness and enhances the perceived risk of the online channel. These inhibiting effects represent a status quo bias. Trust in the bank shows both adoption-enhancing effects and an
adoption-inhibiting effect. Finally, the negative relationship between offline channel satisfaction and perceived usefulness is significantly stronger for men, older people, and less experienced Internet users. This study has both theoretical and managerial relevance as it helps to understand consumer behavior in multichannel environments and provides implications for the design of multichannel service strategies."

This research project proposes and investigates the performance of a multi-channel scheduling algorithm based on the well-known deficit round-robin (DRR) calling it as multichannel DRR (MCDRR). The original DRR is then extended to the case of multiple channels with tunable transmitters and fixed receivers to provide efficient fair queueing in hybrid time
division multiplexing (TDM)/ wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networks.
The availability of channels and tunable transmitters are taken into account in extending the DRR and allow the overlap of `rounds' in scheduling to efficiently utilize channels and
tunable transmitters. When the tunable transmitter is available, it triggers the scheduling process. At the start of the First Round, the Round-robin pointer starts from the first flow, if
the packet size is lesser than the deficit counter, the packets are served successfully to their dedicated channels with channel available at that instant. The packets which cannot be served
due to the packet size greater than the deficit counter and the channel available at that particular instant of time is neglected. Also, if the Flows are empty, then the particular Flows are neglected. The pointer moves sequentially as the tunable transmitter triggers at a particular instant of time and scheduling process starts. The pointer continues from the next
flow after the packets are served successfully/unsuccessfully in the previous flow. Once the pointer moves through all the given flows, we define it as “Completion of one Round’’. Simulation results show that the proposed MCDRR can provide nearly perfect fairness with ill-behaved flows for different sets of conditions for interframe times and frame sizes in hybrid TDM/WDM optical networks with tunable transmitters and fixed receivers.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to assess whether the image of a retailer – beyond the distinct contributions of the website and the stores - is improved by the perceived congruence of its channels, and for what types of customers.
Design methodology – An online survey was conducted on 1,478 customers taken from the behavioural databases of a major French multichannel retailer. Structural modelling and One-way Anova were used to test the working hypotheses.
Findings – Congruent channels improve retailer image even when these channels have a less good image. However, channel congruence cannot be elevated to a universal guiding principle as it only affects multichannel and online buyers, with no detrimental impact on retailer image.
Research limitations/implications - The study is mainly limited by the type of retailer studied, and the choice of an online questionnaire, limiting the representativeness of the offline purchasers.
Practical implications – In order to improve its image, a multichannel retailer must seek maximum congruence of its website and stores. Congruent channels lead to benefits for the retailer even when they are poorly valued by consumers.
Originality value – Despite a broad theoretical consensus, this is the first study to demonstrate empirically that website and store congruence improves retailer image, and not only online purchase intentions. It is also one of the first published researches that uses congruence as a mediating variable.

The scale-up of a microchannel reactor for Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis has progressed through multiple scales. Equivalent process performance was demonstrated across each scale. Small single channel test reactors (~4 cm in length) have demonstrated excellent performance of an FT catalyst provided by Oxford Catalysts, Ltd. Catalyst from the same batch was tested in two long microchannel reactors (~62 cm in length), with equal performance at a GHSV of 12,400 hr-1. Further the same catalyst replicated the performance from both short and long single channel reactors in a pilot reactor with 276 parallel process channels ( ~ 16 cm in length). The elusive premise of numbering up microchannel has been demonstrated, enabling the scale-up of reactor capacity.

The evolution of internet technology, rapid digitalization and introduction of multiple channels strongly influence the managers and researchers alike to discover and update how customers behave in multiple channels and how companies and customers better interact in a multichannel environment. The COVID-19 pandemic crisis around the world significantly affect the performance of national and international firms and the firms with vibrant capabilities of operating in multiple channels survive during this crucial time. More important is the question of how the multiple channels can be handled synergistically to maximize the customer repeat purchase behavior. The current study is an attempt to understand whether the role of channel integration helps in customer movement from firm’s offline channel to firm’s online channel. Data have been collected from a sample of 358 experienced online customers from different cities of Pakistan and analysed through smart PLS. The results of the study confirm that the customer previous interaction with the firm offline channel significantly affect the customer perception about firm’s online channel. Additionally, the results of the study also confirm the moderating role of channel integration in transfer of customer perceptions form offline channel to online channel. Although each channel may offer a unique value proposition, channel integration can drive overall customer satisfaction and repeat purchase behaviour in a relational, multichannel environment. Managerial contributions have been provided for practitioners and firms as well.

In the newspaper industry there is a growing interest in the analysis of the duality of channels that distribute the latest news. In this study we identify the main motivations that lead readers to read the press. We also analyse the influence of motivations on the degree of perceived substitutability between digital and traditional newspapers. First, a qualitative study was carried out in order to learn about this particular context of analysis in greater detail. Specifically, we held a focus group and a series of in-depth interviews. These analyses allowed us to identify the four main motivations to read the press: (1) to search for specific information, (2) to get updated news, (3) for leisure reasons, and (4) as a habit. Subsequently, a survey was applied to a representative sample of users and several hypotheses were tested with a binary logistic regression analysis. The results confirm that the motivation to search for updated news influences negatively the perceived degree of substitutability between channels (readers prefer the digital channel when searching for updated news). We also found that reading as entertainment or as habit led readers to consider both channels more 'substitutable'. These findings suggest that both channels can survive alongside one another, avoiding cannibalistic effects, and that the newspaper industry should recognise the difference of the digital channel by paying more attention to its peculiarities.

In this paper we develop an intergraded model for request mechanism and data transmission in the uplink phase in the presence of channel noise. This model supports quality of service. The wireless channel is prone to many impairments. Thus, certain techniques have to be developed to deliver data to the receiver. We calculated the performance parameters for single and multichannel wireless networks, like the requests throughput, data throughput and the requests acceptance probability and data acceptance probability. The proposed model is general model since it can be applied to different wireless networks such as IEEE802.11a, IEEE802.16e, CDMA operated networks and Hiperlan\2.

ecbatan is a 6-channel sound (speakers and transducers) and material (plywood) installation. It was exhibited as a 4-channel sound installation at TADAEX 2018 in Tehran, Iran.


The piece is formed around one guitar arpeggio. I had first used this arpeggio about fourteen years ago (in 2005), during a White Comedy recording at Kargadan studio in Tehran. It was discarded from the album’s final mix. For the purposes of ecbatan, I retrieved it from a recording that had been made during one of the bands’ jam sessions at Kargadan. Working with this material, recycled from an old archive of discarded recordings, I sought to somewhat reinstate a spatial and material connection with an environment to which I had lost physical access. Viewed in the context of broader trajectory of my practice during the course of this research, ecbatan is a pivotal piece as it marked the beginning of a transition between two different approaches to composition: a familiar one according to which pieces were carefully planned and written and an emerging one that tended towards more performativity and was open to accidents. In my earlier works one of the main concerns was to figure out ways of exercising precise control over sounds and their spatial manifestations within a piece, in order to make them subservient to my compositional needs and aims. In my later works, however, these concerns increasingly shifted towards finding creative ways of giving up the precise control through more spontaneous and performative approaches to composition that involved improvisation. In The Lived Experience of Improvisation (2017) Simon Rose notes: ‘The immediacy required for composing in the process of performing calls for a particular presence in time within engagement in the world, an intervolving.’ (161) Through a retrospective reflection I would note that composing in and through performing became a focus, perhaps because it increasingly felt relevant to the new conditions of my life as I transitioned between the two societies (Iran and UK). This change took place organically and through an ongoing exchange with the practice of my interlocutors and that of my colleagues and friends in the UK, especially in SARC, where I have been based since summer of 2014. In this context, ecbatan can be viewed as the sonic/musical articulation of such a transition as well; one that marked the flow of time and embodied an experience of place and a mode of becoming—transitioning between a state of being refugee to a state of becoming permanent resident (and then citizen); from a state of insecurity and float to a state of relative stability and ‘grounding’.

This paper deals with the generation of GPS signals using FPGA based Xilinx System Generator 9.2. We have considered L1 frequency band as it is mainly used for commercial, civil aviation and other purposes. Once the GPS signals are generated in the simulated laboratory environment we can test the proper working of multichannel GPS receiver which is an extension of this project. After we obtain accurate laboratory results, we can go for real GPS signals. The board that has been used for the hardware implementation is Lyrtech SFF-SDR board, which is having three functional layers. The bottom layer is the digital signal-processing layer, middle layer is the ADAC MASTER III layer and the upper layer is RF layer having a transmission and receiving capacity of 1 GHz. This will lead to the development of indigenous digital GPS signal generator using reconfiguration.

An exact expression is derived for the electron Green function in two-channel Kondo models with one and two impurities, describing the crossover from non-Fermi liquid (NFL) behavior at intermediate temperatures to standard Fermi liquid (FL) physics at low temperatures. Symmetry-breaking perturbations generically present in experiment ensure the standard low-energy FL description, but the full crossover is wholly characteristic of the unstable NFL state. Distinctive conductance lineshapes in quantum dot devices should result. We exploit a connection between this crossover and one occurring in a classical boundary Ising model to calculate real-space electron densities at finite temperature. The single universal finite-temperature Green function is then extracted by inverting the integral transformation relating these Friedel oscillations to the t matrix. Excellent agreement is demonstrated between exact results and full numerical renormalization group calculations.

The recently developed compressive sensing (CS) framework enables the design of sub-Nyquist analog-to-digital converters. Several architectures have been proposed for the acquisition of sparse signals in large swaths of bandwidth. In this paper we consider a more flexible multi-channel signal model consisting of several discontiguous channels where the occupancy of the combined bandwidth of the channels is sparse. We introduce a new compressive acquisition architecture, the compressive multiplexer (CMUX), to sample such signals. We demonstrate that our architecture is CS-feasible and suggest a simple implementation with numerous practical advantages.

In this paper we considered multi-channel Deficit Round Robin scheduler (MCDRR) for the multi-channel wireless networks to provide better fairness to the users. The scheduler needs to exploit channel availability to achieve higher network performance. The MCDRR scheduling algorithm was first implemented in hybrid TDM/WDM optical networks and this was mainly developed to study multi-channel communication. The results provided nearly perfect fairness with ill-behaved flows for different sets of conditions. Now shifting our focus back to wireless networks, many algorithms proposed for the multi-channel wireless networks have fairness issues. This paper address fairness issue by investigating the existing scheduler for the IEEE 802.11n multi-channel wireless network case to provide efficient fair queueing. We take into account the availability of channels, the availability of data packets and efficiently utilize channels to achieve better fairness. Simulation results show that the MCDRR for multi-channel wireless networks can provide nearly perfect fairness with ill-behaved flows for different sets of conditions. Finally, after comparing our results, we say MCDRR performs better than the existing schedulers Round-robin (RR) and Deficit round-robin (DRR) in terms of fairness and throughput.

As business-to-business customers increasingly use online channels, sellers must reconsider strategic investments in at least two areas: the salesperson channel, which faces the threat of substitution, and customer-specific discounts, which may be more precisely targeted. The authors draw on communication theory to posit that a customer’s search and purchasing in the seller’s online channels interact positively with both salesperson contact and customer-specific discounts to drive the seller’s customer-level sales and profit return on these investments. A multimethod approach using a complex data set from a large industrial seller provides broad support for hypothesized effects. Two post hoc experiments reveal how online and salesperson channels are complementary, together improving customer–seller communication such that the seller is better able to fulfill customer needs and reduce customer perceived risk. This research advances the multichannel and pricing literatures and offers actionable insights for business-to-business marketers, revealing how online channels can complement traditional seller investments in salespeople and customer-specific discounts.

Recent studies on consumer shopping behaviour indicate that multichannel shoppers show a significantly higher value and frequency of purchase than single channel shoppers. Thus, the focus of modern retailing shifted to "e-tailing", one of the most adoptive channel. Online marketers has not only to compete with traditional shopkeepers but are also facing stiff competition from many fast emerging online companies which are fast and swift in their customers approach and value added services. The purpose of this study is to look at the factors driving online shopping and to develop an understanding of the factors influencing the online shopping by the consumers. This is done by exploring the factors that encourage consumers to shop online through analysis of such advantages as convenience, website quality, mode of payment and a wider choice. The most beneficial factor of shopping online was identified as it is convenient and wider choices are available to customers to make the decisions. This paper explores the possibility of constructing an unreal environment through sound, particularly through the use of contemporary digital tools. The idea of the unreal is approached as a not being-in-the-world experience. That is, an experience which expands the natural embodied physicality. And yet, sound propagation through a physical space, which led to the study of reverberation and spatialization as the main subjects of interest. Consequently, reverb became the main tool to explore the subject in practice. Due to the project's multidisciplinarity, the subject had different approaches: from the possibility of reverb as a tool for fiction-making, to listener's comprehensibility and readability of the events; exploring spatialization techniques and multichannel reproduction systems to finally conclude with the idea that, in the end, sound relies on the listener's actual physical experience of the space.

The description of the developed by us automatic Multichannel Aerosol Spectrometer " Masnik-A " are presented. " Masnik-A " system represents the optical/electronic automatic device for measuring of the concentrations and distributions of the sizes of liquid and solid aerosol particles of natural and artificial origin in laboratory and field conditions. Aerosol Spectrometer " Masnik-A " provides a range of measurement of the sizes of aerosol particles from 0.5 up to 40 mm (on a radius). It has 18 channels of the analyzer (graduations by the sizes) with a memory on the channel no less then 9.105 particles. The limiting value of measuring concentrations (containing in 1 cm3 of the aerosol environment) makes no less 2.104 particles. The instrument has possibility of obtaining the command of handle from external personal computer (PC), and also input of the results of measurements for further automatic processing by a specially developed program. W artykule dokonano analizy wybranych aspektów strategii marketingowej
firmy sprzedającej tzw. zdrową żywność w modelu dystrybucji wielokanałowej. Badania
obejmowały wywiad pogłębiony z właścicielką sklepu Słoneczko i analizę prezentacji
jej oferty w internecie. O doborze asortymentu decyduje skład, jakość i cena. Wśród
klientów przeważają osoby z dolegliwościami zdrowotnymi. Integracja pionowa kanału
dystrybucji ma bardzo ograniczony charakter. Strona internetowa badanej firmy pełni
funkcję promocyjną i sprzedażową. Opisy produktów mają charakter marketingowy. Zawierają
informacje o korzyściach wynikających z konsumpcji danego produktu, sposobach
jego wykorzystania i grupach docelowych. Bardzo pozytywnie należy także ocenić
wysiłki firmy w kierunku internacjonalizacji sprzedaży (mimo pewnych uchybień). Ważnym
elementem strategii marketingowej badanego detalisty jest ponadto efekt synergii
i komplementarności między sklepem internetowym i stacjonarnym.

This article retraces the path followed  by a regional daily in France in diversifying its activities and enlisting its workers in the task of mastering a multichannel journalism. It supports the hypothesis that the objective of the process is less the transformation of the traditional activities of that enterprise than the construction of a discourse of modernity and a process of acculturation of its workers to new activities that can now be developped in parallel to the production of the newspaper.
