Tokat’ın 28 km güneydoğusunda yer alan Çamlıbel, Anadolu Selçuklulardan günümüze her daim önemli bir geçiş noktası olmuştur. Tokat-Sivas karayolu üzerinde bulunan belde Osmanlı dönemi salnamelerinde “Çiftlik-Çiftlikköy” ismiyle anılmaktadır. Çamlıbel, Osmanlı döneminde Samsun-Bağdat karayolunun Tokat-Sivas bölümünde geçiş noktalarından birisi olmuştur. Çamlıbel’in XV. yüzyılda Yıldız Nahiyesi’ne bağlı bir yerleşim yeri olduğu; 19. yüzyıl salnamelerinde merkez sancağa bağlı nahiyeler arasında yer aldığı görülmektedir. Söz konusu kayıtlar Çamlıbel’in Osmanlı döneminde belirli aralıklarla gelişip gerilediğini göstermektedir. Çamlıbel’de Anadolu Selçuklu Dönemi’nden bir kervansaray ve bir mescit yapısı;
Osmanlı Dönemi’nden dört köprü ve bir çeşmenin üst kısmı günümüze ulaşabilmiştir. Kervansaray ve mescit oldukça harap vaziyettedir. Köprülerin büyük oranda sağlam kaldıkları görülmektedir.

Alanya Castle, whose foundations date back to Hellenistic times, is considered as a medieval fortress built by the Anatolian Seljuks and is considered one of the symbols of Alanya today. It was used as the winter capital during the Seljuk period and its name was changed to Alaiye as Kalonoros, referring to the name of the conqueror, Alaeddin Keykubad. The city was surrounded by the walls we saw today, with the orders of the Conqueror and was supported with various towers, especially the Red tower and as a port city with its shipyard, it became the window of the Anatolian Seljuks to the Mediterranean.
Today, when we examine the walls and gates of Alanya Castle, which consists of gray stone blocks and plasters, we see that they are not composed of gray stone blocks and plasters. Plastered and painted decorations that have remained in small remnants due to natural wear and human damage, must have been adorned in a spectacular way during the period of Anatolian Seljuks. The walls and gates of Alanya Castle, where zigzag, checkerboard, shield, animal and various geometric ornaments are applied, reflects the aesthetic taste and iconographic understanding of the period. When we compare these decorations, which are mostly concentrated in the periphery of doors and bastions, to other structures and various works of art, we will have a more accurate result.

Konya’nın Meram ilçesinde yer alan Aksinne Mescidi, batıda ahşap sundurmalı son cemaat yeri şeklinde tasarlanmış önü açık medhal bölümü ve kubbeyle örtülü kare planlı kübik gövdeden meydana gelmektedir. Kitabesi bulunmadığı için inşa tarihi tam olarak bilinmeyen eser, mimari özellikleri ve süslemeleriyle tipik 13. yy Anadolu Selçuklu mescitlerinin özelliklerini taşımaktadır. Mevcut görünümünü 2005 yıllında başlatılan ve 2006 yılında sonlandırılan büyük ölçekli onarımla almış olup, öncesinde çeşitli dönemlerde yapılan değişiklik ve eklemelerle özgünlüğü kaybetmiş durumdaydı. Onarımda eklemeler kaldırılmış, duvarlarındaki çimento harçlar raspa edilmiş ve tahrip olan malzemelerinde yenilemeler yapılmıştır. Bu uygulamalar neticesinde duvarlarının alt bölümlerinde moloz ve kaba yonu taş, devamında ve kubbesinde tuğla kullanıldığı anlaşılmış, kerpiç duvarla tamamen kapalı hale getirilen medhal bölümünün ön kısmı açılarak, kırma çatılı örtüsü kaldırılmış ve ahşap sundurmayla kapatılmıştır. İç kısmında da benzer uygulamalara gidilmiştir. Bu bölümde sıvaların raspalanmasıyla yapının özgününe ait bazı kalıntılar açığa çıkarılmıştır. Bunlar arasında kubbeye geçiş ögelerinin aralarında açığa çıkarılan, köşeleri çini mozaiklerle meydana getirilen geometrik süslemeli olan sivri kemerli sağır nişler büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bir diğer önem taşıyan bölüm ise mihraptır. Onarım öncesinde yapıda, perde motifiyle şekillendirilmiş yarım daire nişli muhdes mihrap bulunmaktaydı. Bu mihrabın kaldırılmasıyla birlikte alt bölümde özgün mihraba ait alçı in-situ kalıntılara ulaşılmıştır. Aynı zamanda mihrabın batı tarafındaki duvarda seki kalıntısına rastlanmış olup, sekinin ön yüzünün mihraba ait alçı parçalarla kaplandığı görülmüştür. Onarımlarda bu alçı parçalardan hareketle kalıplar çıkarılmış ve kalıplara dökülen alçı levhalarla mihrap kavsarasız olarak yenilenmiştir. Bu işlemlerde özgün parçaların kullanılıp kullanılmadığı mevcut mihraptan anlaşılmamaktadır. Yalnız, özgün mihrabın parçalarının bir bölümünün Konya Sahip Ata Vakıf Müzesi’ne nakledildiği görülmüştür. Müzedeki buluntular ve in-situ kalıntılar bir araya getirildiğinde mihrabın, köşeleri pahlı dikdörtgen planlı niş üzerinde yükselen mukarnaslı kavsaralı olduğu ve çeşitli silmelerinin bulunduğu anlaşılmıştır. Düzen olarak bir yenilik göstermeyen mihrapta geometrik ve bitkisel süslemelerin yanı sıra figürlere de yer verilerek alışılmışın dışına çıkılmıştır. Anadolu Selçuklu döneminde figürlü süsleme birçok yerde kullanılmasına karşın, mevcut eserlerde görüldüğü üzere mihraplar bu alanlardan değildir. Bu sebeple Aksinne Mescidi mihrabı, Selçuklu döneminden günümüze ulaşmış programlanarak hazırlanan figürlü süslemeli tek örnek olma özelliğini taşımaktadır.

Aksinne Masjid, located in Meram district of Konya, consists of an entrance had an open view which was designed as a narthex with wooden porch in the west and a square plan scheme with cubical body covered with dome.  The construction date is not known exactly because it does not have an inscription but it has the characteristics of typical 13th century Anatolian Seljuk mosques with its architectural features and ornaments.  It took it’s present appearance with the large-scale renovation that was started in 2005 and ended in 2006 and had lost its authenticity with the changes and additions made in various periods before. In this renovation, additions were removed, cement mortars on their walls were scraped and renewed materials were destroyed. As a result of these applications, it was understood that rubble and rough stone was used in the lower parts of wall, after this part and in the dome brick was used. The front part of the entrance, which has been completely closed by the mud brick wall, was opened, and the hipped roof was removed, and then it was covered with a wooden porch. Similar applications were made in the interior. In this section, some remains belonging to the authencity of the structure have been uncovered with the scrape of the plasters. Among these, the pointed arch blinded niches whose corners decorated with geometric ornaments made of mosaic tiles were uncovered between in the components of the transition to the dome has a great importance. Another important part is the mihrab. Before the renovation, the building had a mihrab with a semi-circle niche, shaped by a curtain motif. With the removing of this mihrab, in the lower part,  the ruins of stucco as an in-situ which belongs to the original mihrab  was reached. At the same time, a platform was found on the wall in the west side of the mihrab, and seen that the front part of the platform covered with the stucco fragments of mihrab. In these renovations, the mihrap was renewed without kavsara . Whether or not the original fragments are used in these processes, could not be understood from the existing mihrab. It is only seen that a fragments of the original mihrab parts was transported to Konya Sahip Ata Foundation Museum. When the fragments in the museum and the in-situ ruins were brought together, the niche had a muqarnas kavsara and various wipes.  Showing no innovation for organisation, it was gone beyond the ordinary with using geometrical and herbal ornamentations as well as figures. Although the figurative ornament is used in many places during the Anatolian Seljuk period, the mihrabs are not from these areas as seen in the existing works. For this reason, the Aksinne Masjid mihrab is the only example with figured ornament that reached since the Seljuk period to the present.

This present work is a study of Seljuk caravanserais in the vicinity of Denizli with a special focus on local socio-economic and historical factors. A first objective is to examine the suggestions, based on formalistic features such as architectural plans, about the functions of the caravanserais. A new approach, local contextualization, is attempted in order to investigate further functional aspects of Han-abad and Akhan.
The activities of a local family who took part in Seljuk high bureaucracy and the local economy give significant clues about the purpose and design of the caravanserais. A second objective is the analysis of the architectural features and ornamentation programs in order to evaluate the influences of local factors.

--- This article aims to draw attention to the problem related with the location of Gevher Nesibe’ Dār al-shifā, built in 1205-6 as a part of Çifte Medrese at Kayseri. There is a controversy among scholars about its location in Çifte Medrese. First of all, the reasons behind the opinions about the location are analyzed and evaluated.

Most of the publications about Gevher Nesibe’ Dār al-shifā have been accepted that it was located in the western side of Çifte Medrese without question. Most of them examined the dar’al-shifas as a madrasa and the differences in architectural features and functions between madrasas and dar’al-shifas are not properly investigated. It is also assumed that Çifte Medrese has only one patron, whereas, the roles of Gevher Nesibe and Sultan Gıyaseddin I. Keyhusraw in the building process and architectural formation of Çifte Medrese are not precisely considered. Furthermore, unsuitable placement of the building inscription on the portal of the western side of Çifte Medrese is totally ignored.

As a result of the analyses and assessment in this article, the following facts are found: It has been revealed that building inscription is placed incompatibly and has disproportionate dimensions for the portal in the western side of Çifte Medrese. The eastern and western parts of Çifte Medrese vary in dimensions and numbers of spaces. The spaces of the eastern part of Çifte Medrese are suitable for a dar’al-shifa because of its bigger spaces. It has been determined that, from the architectural aspects, Çifte Medrese’ western side must be Gıyasiye for its monumentality and complexity. There are spaces that open to entrance iwan only at the eastern side of Çifte Medrese and they had functioned for the patients of dar’al-shifa.

Finally, it has been concluded that Gevher Nesibe’ Dār al-shifā could be originally located on the eastern side when the Gıyasiye is on the western side of Çifte Medrese.

Bu çalışma, 13. yüzyılın başlarında 1205-6 yıllarında Kayseri'de inşa edilen ve Çifte Medrese bünyesinde yer alan Gevher Nesibe Darüşşifası'nın konumuyla ilgili soruna dikkat çekmek amacını taşımaktadır. Gevher Nesibe Darüşşifası'nın, Çifte Medrese'nin hangi kanadında yer aldığı konusunda, çeşitli tarihlere ait yayınlarda farklı görüşler bulunmaktadır. Öncelikle bu farklı görüşlerin dayanaklarının tespiti, analizi ve değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Birçok yayında Gevher Nesibe Darüşşifası'nın Çifte Medrese'nin batı kanadında yer aldığı sorgulamaksızın kabul edilmiştir. Darüşşifa (hastane) ve tıp medresesinden oluştuğu kabul edilen Çifte Medrese'nin " hangi kanadı darüşşifa, hangi kanadı medresedir? " sorusu yeterince detaylı tartışılmamıştır. Darüşşifalar incelenirken plan şeması olarak medreseler arasında değerlendirilmiş ve bu nedenle darüşşifa ile medrese arasında işlevden kaynaklanabilecek farklılıkların değerlendirilmesi yeterince yapılamamıştır. Ayrıca, bazı yayınlarda Çifte Medrese'nin tek bir banisi olduğu düşüncesi ön plana çıkmış, birbirine bitişik Gıyasiye ve Şifaiye olarak adlandırılan iki yapının mimari şekillenişi tam olarak anlaşılamamıştır. Çifte Medrese'nin inşası sürecinde Gevher Nesibe ve Sultan I. Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev'in oynadıkları tarihi rolün ne olabileceği dikkatlerden kaçmıştır. Bununla birlikte Çifte Medrese'nin batı kanadındaki özgün taçkapı üzerinde uyumsuz konumda duran kitabe yeterince sorgulanmamıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda Çifte Medrese'nin doğu kanadının Darüşşifa veya Şifaiye, batı kanadının ise Gıyasiye Medresesi olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bu sonuca, Çifte Medrese'nin batı kanadındaki taçkapının üzerindeki inşa kitabesinin bu taçkapıya ait olmamasına ve inşa kitabesinin günümüze ulaşamayan Çifte Medrese'nin doğu kanadındaki özgün taçkapıya ait olması olasılığına, Gevher Nesibe'nin türbesinin konumuna, Çifte Medrese'nin doğu ve batı kanatlarındaki mekânların genişlik ve sayılarının farklılığına, her iki yapıdan hangisinin mimari özellikleri açısından bir sultan yapısı olan Gıyasiye olarak adlandırılmaya uygun olduğuna ve doğu kanattaki yapının giriş eyvanına açılan mekânların varlığına ve işlevselliklerine yönelik analizlerle ulaşılmıştır.

The phenomenon of bacini, the tin glazed or luster ceramics bowls used to decorate the external surfaces of buildings, is diffused in many countries of the Mediterranean Sea. The first examples are found from the beginning of 11th century in Italy, where this phenomenon seems to be more popular especially in Tuscany, in the area of Pisa. However, from the 12th century this kind of decoration can be seen also in other Mediterranean countries. Some examples of bacini in Europe are in Spain, Portugal and France. In the east, bacini are on several churches of the Balkans, in the area of the Byzantine Empire, especially in Greece. Finally, a similar use of ceramics can be found also under the Seljuks, in Armenia and Georgia from the 13th century.
We know that from the 11th century Italy has many commercial relationships with Mediterranean countries, with the Byzantine Empire and the Seljuk and then Anatolia, especially some city-states of the coasts, the Sea Republics of Venice, Genoa and Pisa. Is it possible that this particular use of ceramic dishes to decorate the walls of the buildings spread from Italy and became a common language of architecture for all these areas?

This study aims to analyze and comment on the Seljukid effect on Early Ottoman Architecture (during the Principalities’ Period) by examining the first Ottoman monuments in the former capital city of the Empire: Bursa. Together with the mutual traditional and cultural background; the social, political and locational/ regional relationship of the two sultanates will be discussed in specific to architectural approaches. As the two capitals, Konya and Bursa, will be compared in terms of the architectural formation, the city plan and as the image of central power. Some specific early Ottoman monuments are to be emphasized in the article, due to their importance in Ottoman architecture and their relationship with Seljuk architecture. Some of which are; Hüdavendigar Camii  ve Türbesi, Muradiye Camii  ve Külliyesi, Yıldırım Camii  ve Külliyesi, Koza Han  etc.

Öz: Anadolu Selçukluları döneminde Konya ve Kayseri, devrin en önemli kervan yolu ile birbirine bağlanmıştır. Selçuklular güzergâhın büyük çoğunluğunda geçmiş medeniyetlerin izlediği yolu kullanmaya devam ederek, inşa ettikleri kervansaraylarla yolu güvenli ve sistematik bir düzene kavuşturmuştur. Günümüzde Konya'dan Avanos Sarı Han'a kadar yol güzergâhı ve kervansarayların konumları büyük ölçüde izlenebilirken, Sarı Han'dan sonra Kayseri'ye uzanan bölüm, modern yol güzergâhının değişmesi nedeniyle meçhul kalmıştır. Yaptığımız incelemelerde, Avanos Sarı Han'a 27 km, Kayseri kent merkezine de 28 km uzaklıkta, İncesu İlçesi'ne bağlı Süksün Kasabası'nın yaklaşık 4 km kuzeybatısında, Suvermez (Kuba) Dağının kuzeyinde bir kervansaray, bir mescit ve iki sarnıcın yer aldığı dört farklı yol üstü kuruluşu tespit edilmiş, aynı zamanda Avanos Sarı Han ile Kayseri arasındaki kervan yolunun güzergâhı tam olarak ortaya konulmuştur. Yol üstü kuruluşlarının her biri birbirinden bağımsız olarak inşa edilmiştir. Bunlar içerisinde kervansaray bütünüyle yıkılmış olup, mevcut haliyle toprak ve moloz taşlarla doldurulmuş küçük bir tümsek görünümündedir. Yapılar arasında en sağlam olan mescit ise düzgün kesme taşlarla inşa edilmiş, kuzey-güney doğrultusunda dikdörtgen planlı, eyvan tipindedir. Sarnıçların her ikisi doğal kayanın oyulmasıyla meydana getirilen zemin altı sarnıçları arasında yer almaktadır. Bunlardan mescidin batısında yer alan sarnıç büyük ölçüde mevcudiyetini korurken, yolun kuzeyinde yer alan diğeri yıkılmıştır.
Abstract: Konya and Kayseri interconnected each other by most important caravan roads in Anatolian Seljuk period. Seljuks continued to use the road that was followed by previous civilizations for the greater part of the route; the road reached a safe and systematic order by the caravanserais that were built by them. While the itinerary and locations of the caravanserais to Avanos Sarı Han can be followed on a large scale nowadays, the part extending to Kayseri from Sarı Han has remained unbeknown because of changing the modern itinerary. At the end of our investigations, four different on-the road foundations as a caravanserai, a masjid and two cisterns in the north of the Suvermez (Kuba) Mountain, approximately 4 km northwest of Süksun Town connected to İncesu District, 27 km away from Avanos Sarı Han, 28 km away from Kayseri City center. At the same time, the route of the caravan road between Avanos Sarı Han and Kayseri is fully demonstrated. Each of on-the road foundations were built as independent of each other. Caravanserai fully fell to pieces among them, it purports as a small bulge filled with soil and rubble stones. The masjid that is the most robust one among the constructions was built by straight face stones. It is iwan-type and rectangular planned in the north-south direction. Both the cisterns are one of the underground cisterns that were formed by carving of the natural rock. While the cistern in the west of the masjid has largely maintained its presence, other cistern in the north of the road has collapsed.

Doğan Kuban tarafından "Divriği Mucizesi"  olarak tanımlanan ve çağının mimari ve süsleme dehasını yansıtan bu şaheser yapı topluluğuyla karşılaştığımızda hayranlıkla birlikte açıklanması zor birçok soru veya soruna muhatap olmaktayız. Birçok bilinmeyeni içinde taşıyan bu insanlık mirası başyapıtı anlama ve anlatmaya yönelik şimdiye kadar yapılan çok sayıda çabanın varlığı yadsınamaz ve şüphesiz her bir çaba saygı ve ilgiye değerdir. Böylesi "mucizevi" bir yapının "mucizevi" sebeplerle, "mucizevi" yeteneklerle, "mucizevi" şartlarda oluşmuş olduğu kanısına neden olan gizemlerinin ötesine geçerek gerçek mahiyetine vakıf olmak için üzerinde daha çok çalışma yapmak ve daha çok anlama çabası içinde olmamız kaçınılmazdır. Bildiklerimiz ve bilmediklerimizle Divriği Yapı Topluluğu hala Ortaçağ Anadolu Türk Toplumunun yaşam felsefesi, inançları, sanat ve estetik değerlerini kavrama yolunda hala yeterli bilgi düzeyine ulaşamadığımızı düşündürmektedir. Bu nedenle kitabın yazarı da Divriği Yapı Topluluğunun üzerinde düşünülmesini ve tartışılmasını gerekli gördüğü noktalara temas etmek ve farkındalık yaratmayı amaçladığını belirtmektedir.

Firstly, this review enquires into the meaning of the term West Asia employed in the title of this book of conference proceedings and finds it carries a confusion of meanings in respect to the geographical area and the countries that are indicated through the use of this modern term. Secondly this review suggests that the statement that the constructional materials employed determines the difference between Great Seljuk and Rum Seljuk architecture fails to address the matter of the finished appearance of these buildings and, in part has been made possible through the modern mis-translations of the words mâhir ressâmlar recorded in a primary source describing the external appearance of Rum Seljuk architecture. To state that the scale of buildings in Seljuk Iran were greater than those of Rum Seljuk Anatolia, without establishing the size of the respective Muslim urban populations, 80% to about 10%, and the length of time that there was a population of Muslim inhabitants in a Muslim ruled country, respectively of more than 500 years to less than 200 years is likewise misleading, as is the statement that the Christians were minorities in Seljuk-Turkish ruled territory in 13th c. Anatolia.

Öz: Bu eleştiri yazısı öncelikle konu edindiği kongre bildirileri kitabının başlığında yer alan “Batı Asya” terimini ele alır. Bu terim tanımladığı coğrafi bölge ve onun içerdiği ülkeler bağlamında bir anlam karmaşasına neden olmaktadır. Ele alınan ikinci konu ise yayında yer alan “kullanılan yapı malzemelerinin Büyük Selçuklu ve Anadolu Selçuklu mimarisi arasındaki farklılıkların nedeni olduğu “yargısının bu iki devletine ait yapıların ele alınmasında zayıf kalmış olmasıdır. Makale bu konudaki eksikliğin dönem kaynaklarında yer alan “mahir ressamlar” kavramının modern kaynaklar tarafından yanlış yorumlanmasından kaynaklandığına işaret etmektedir. Müslüman nüfus oranının Anadolu’da %10 iken doğuda %80 olduğu gerçeğini ve ülkelerin Müslüman yönetiminde olduğu süreler arasındaki farkı (200 yıla karşı 500 yıl) göz önüne almadan Büyük Selçuklu yapılarının Anadolu Selçuklu yapılarından daha büyük ölçekli olduğunu ileri sürmenin yanı sıra, 13. Yüzyıl Anadolusu’nda Hıristiyanların azınlık olduklarını belirtmek tarihsel açıdan yanıltıcıdır.

Der Artikel untersucht einen Aspekt der Byzanz-Rezeption im Quattrocento. Es wird gezeigt, dass die Art der Gestaltung der Lünette oberhalb des Hauptportals des Tempio Malatestiano in Rimini auf östliche Vorbilder verweist. Im östlichen Mittelmeerraum war es seit Langem üblich, Fassaden und Portale mit Spolien – Fragmenten der Vergangenheit – zu schmücken. Dies belegen unter anderem die Hagia Sophia in Trabzon, die Porta di Sant’Alipio in Venedig und mehrere seldschukische Karawansereien. Auf diese Tradition aus dem ehemaligen Osten des Römischen Reichs griff Alberti beim Entwurf der Schaufassade des Tempio Malatestiano zurück. Das Portal wird von einer Assemblage aus Marmorstücken bekrönt. Dieser Verweis auf ostmediterrane Traditionen drückt sich nicht nur in der Bauornamentik aus, sondern auch darin, dass Sigismondo Malatesta die sterblichen Überreste von Gemistos Plethon, eines der letzten Philosophen aus dem Reich der Römer (Byzanz), herbeischaffen und an seiner Kirche in Rimini bestatten ließ. Auf diese Weise stellt der Bau in mehrfacher Hinsicht das nunmehr nur noch fragmentarische Erbe der Antike aus.

Türk cihan hâkimiyeti telakkisi, “Türk Fütuhat” felsefesinin ana kaynağı ve dayanak noktası olarak, tarihimiz boyunca gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılan bir gayedir. 1040 yılında Dandanakan zaferi sonrasında Horâsân’da kendi devletlerini kuran Selçuklu beyleri, zaferin hemen ardından topladıkları Merv kurultayında, fethedilecek yerleri tespit edip, devleti “cihanşümul” bir Türk devleti haline getirmek için harekete geçmişlerdir. Fethedilecek yeni yerlerin çeşitli bölgelerine gönderilecek hanedan üyelerinin önceden belirlenmesi, cihân hâkimiyeti telakkisinin uygulama aşamasıydı. Kısaca “cihana hâkim olma ideali” olarak tanımladığımız Türk cihan hâkimiyeti telakkisi diğer Türk devletlerinde olduğu gibi, Büyük Selçuklu Devleti’nin de temel idealiydi. Selçuklu sultanları bu ideali gerçekleştirmek ve hâkim oldukları sınırları genişletmek için sürekli fetih hareketlerinde bulunmuşlardır. Tarihimizin birçok devrinde sayılı Türk hakanları, başbuğları ve sultanları tarafından gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılan ve Türklerde en eski devirlerden beri genel bir fikir halinde var olan bu düşünce, Büyük Selçuklu Sultan’ı Melikşâh’a atalarından kalan bir mirastır. Melikşâh, cihan hâkimiyeti telakkisi doğrultusunda yaptığı fetihlerle devletinin sınırlarını Seyhun nehrinden Akdeniz kıyılarına kadar genişletmiştir.

The Medical Institutions at Anatolia during the 12th-14th centuries are named with different terms like dār al-shifā, mārîstān, dār al-sihhā, dār al-āfiyā and dār al-rahhā etc. Some of the medical institutions at Anatolia between the 12th and 14th centuries such as Dār al-shifā (mārîstān) of Gevher Nesibe at Kayseri, Dār al-sihhā of Keykavus I at Sivas, Dār al-shifā at Divriği, Dār al-shifā of Gökmedrese at Tokat and Dār al-shifā of Amasya are reached todays. Some of the medical instutions such as Mārîstān of Eminuddin at Mardin, Dār al-shifā (dār al-āfiyā) of Çankırı, Dār al-shifā (mārîstān) of Ali (son of Parvana Muinuddin) at Kastamonu, Dār al-rahhā of Sivas, Mārîstān-ı atik at Konya, Dār al-shifā (mārîstān) of Sultan Alaeddin at Konya and Dār al-shifā of Aksaray are not survived.
This study aimed to investigate the features of change in architectural plans and identical architectural features of the medical instutions at Anatolia during the 12th-14th centuries. The first examples of the medical instutions were built in a building complex with other types of buildings.  After that a trend for independent medical institutions is revealed with the example of Dār al-shifā of Amasya. One of the identical architectural features in the medical institutions, is the spaces that have access from the entrance iwan.
