In this paper, the researchers particularly investigated the subject verb
agreement in Sindhi and English languages. English and Sindhi are two entirely
different languages. There are differences in their phonology, morphology and syntax
also. In this paper, the researchers examined the difference between one of the aspects
of syntax, specially the difference between subject verb agreements in both the
languages. Syntactically English is a head initial SVO language and Sindhi is a head
Final SOV language. These two languages differ not only in phonology, morphology
and syntax but they have also got difference in their origin. First the study shows a
brief look at origin of Sindhi and English languages. Then subject verb agreement in
Sindhi and English is analysed individually, afterwards there is a analysis of
comparison between these two languages in subject verb agreement.

Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) has brought enormous developments in teaching and learning process recently. Teaching with computer technology using different methodologies is one of the widely investigated areas in education sector nowadays. This research aims at exploring the efficacy of Computer Assisted Language Teaching (CALT) using Desire2Learn (D2L) Educational software, for teaching subject-verb agreement deductively at Al-Majma'ah University in Saudi Arabia. This study also investigates the attitude of Saudi EFL learners towards CALT-D2L's effect on their learning achievement. Sixty nine undergraduate students of level three from Department of English, College of Education, Al-Majmaah University, were involved in this study. The sample was divided into two groups: (CALT-D2L " Experimental Group " while the other traditional chalk and talk method based as " Control Group ". Analysis of the data of both groups indicates that experimental group outperformed control group in term of the percentage of result compared. Moreover students exhibit positive attitude towards using D2L software in grammar learning. Per a indicar que una cosa està en un lloc, les llengües poden diferenciar que siga informació temàtica (Les due meloni sono sul tavolo / The two melons are on the table / Els dos melons estan damunt la taula) i remàtica (Sul tavolo, ci sono due meloni / On the table, there ara two melons / Damunt la taula, hi han dos melons). Com és previsible, el verb concorda amb el subjecte. Però, en les llengües romàniques occidentals, no concordava. Eixa anomalia va unida a una altra: haver substituït el verb intransitiu ser pel transitiu haver (‘tindre’). A la llarga, els parlants han anat suprimint l’absència de concordança amb el subjecte, excepte que hi haja algun fet local particular (el castellà, que té una síl·laba molt vocàlica, no ha creat la forma hayn melones; però sí que diu habían melones, habrán melones…; el francés tendix a suprimir la flexió verbal –pensent > pens–, de manera que ha mantingut y a). Nebot (1894: 51, 100) ja constatà que el valencià viu feia No hi han entrades. L’article tracta l’estructura de l’oració i l’evolució (§5.1). També analitza l’aplicació del terme impersonal per a intentar justificar l’absència de concordança (§5.2). La construcció no és impersonal (de subjecte humà indeterminat), sinó defectiva (només té la tercera persona), fet derivat de la rematicitat: la primera persona (jo, nosaltres: emissor) i la segona (tu, vosaltres: receptor) sempre és informació temàtica, coneguda del receptor. Una altra alteració teòrica ha sigut creure que hi haurien verbs amb objecte i sense subjecte; però el subjecte és general, i l’objecte està limitat als verbs transitius. El resultat d’eixes confusions ha sigut voler mantindre l’absència de concordança i presentar la presència com a «vulgar», pròpia d’un nivell baix. En castellà, s’han produït més alteracions (canviar Se venden melones per Se vende melones, §5.2.6-§5.2.7), construcció que ha desembocat en aplicar el pronom el al subjecte (Los melones no se les corta así, §5.3.5, 21 i 22). Realment, només hi ha un factor difícil en el tema: la substitució del verb intransitiu ser pel transitiu haver en el romànic occidental. En canvi, s’ha produït una acumulació de confusions, la qual ha acabat creant un prejuí (una concordança regular és vista com a un «vulgarisme»), que s’ha mantingut a pesar de la reacció tan positiva de Joan Solà (§5.1.3). Realment, «un cas com un cabàs» (Solà 1994: 306).

У раду се истражује прихватљивост реченица са семантичком и граматичком конгруенцијом предиката са субјектом исказаним партитивном бројном синтагмом чији је центар основни број (ССОБ) у српском језику, када је глагол у презенту, а субјекат и предикат у неутралном редоследу и контактној позицији.

This study explores the person/number suffixes in Laki in a descriptive-analytic method. Having a broad distribution, these suffixes can attach to subject and object NPs, prepositions, and verbs. By considering the uniform syntactic behavior of subjects of transitive and intransitive predicates and it’s contrast with the behavior of objects of transitive predicates, the authors show that these suffixes are not ergative markers. The presence of these suffixes on prepositions as well as verbs, priority of verbal stem and not necessarily the first constituent of VP for hosting these endings and the agreement relation between these suffixes and direct objects evidences that viewing these suffixes as subject agreement markers is not on the right track. Finally, using evidenc like the uniformity of distribution of these suffixes with NPs and dependent personal pronouns, together with historical evidenc regarding the origination of verbal suffixes from pronouns, the authors argue that these suffixes are pronoun and are not fully converted into verbal agreement markers yet.
