The spirit and philosophy of Open Access are in sync with FAIFE owing to its visible role in sharing intellectual freedom for building information democracy. But with exponential increase of cost of scholarly research publication and capture of a huge portion of publication industry by for-profit publishers create a void between the research and researcher, information and seeker, educator and learner, query and the solutions. This paper illustrates the hidden cause of this crisis in scholarly communication and give a brief understanding of total open access movement, from past initiative to future plans. Additionally this paper thoroughly pointed out the tools and platforms which can be used by educators and researchers to promote this open access movement with a great success. The paper reflects the value of open access movement in the way to eliminate communication gap in terms of scholarly research work.

This monography provides an overview of the conceptual developments that lead from the traditional views of infinite (and their paradoxes) to the contemporary view in which those old paradoxes are solved but new problems arise. Also a particular insight in the problem of continuity is given, followed by applications in theory of computability.

Este adelanto de mi nueva investigación intenta mostrar la filiación del debate renacentista sobre la pluralidad de los mundos (representado en las figuras de Cusa, Bruno y Galileo) con la cosmogonía platónica del Timeo. Asimismo, concluye observando el papel histórico de este debate situado entre dos grandes paradigmas cosmológicos: el tolemaico y el newtoniano.

L'articolo analizza l'evoluzione linguistica che porta dal Latino "carpere" e il Greco "καρπός" al Siciliano "carpari" e "accarpari/-risi", che si presenta in forma attiva, passiva e intransitiva, e l'etimologia dei due verbi e dei loro derivati, partendo da un diffuso modo di dire popolare. The article analyzes the linguistic evolution that leads from the Latin "carpere" and the Greek "καρπός" to the Sicilian "carpari" and "accarpari / -risi", which is presented in an active, passive and intransitive form, and the etymology of two verbs and their derivatives, starting from a widespread popular saying.

This policy brief showcases a successful resilient urban economy solution – two urban regeneration projects based on the <strong>conversion of traditional food markets into multifunctional consumption spaces centred on gourmet food courts</strong>. This brief reveals the importance of these transformations in terms of economic revitalization and the generation of (re)new(ed) urban centralities. The traditional farmers' market, understood as a node of the economic life of an urban agglomeration and, therefore, of the social relations that stem from it, now also plays a role in urban densification and concentration of tertiary activity. The key lesson learnt is that creative place-making and place-branding processes and interventions should maintain strict control over those variables likely to produce phenomena of residential/commercial gentrification and <em>touristification</em> of the surrounding areas. The crisis in open access scholarly communications leads to several initiatives promoting the development of open access repositories. It reduces the repetition of research studies by minimising the cost of access and encouraging the reuse of research data. But at the same time, the contributor researchers are also concerned about the long term preservation, meta-descriptions and citation support of their research publication shard in open access repositories. Zenodo, as an open access repository, supports a wider variety of use cases, and many of them implement minimal control on the data uploaded by users. The present study discusses the research output & research interest of the Library and Information Science Department of Panjab University by collecting data from the Zenodo community. The analysis highlights yearly output of research publications, relative growth rate & doubling time, upload trends, authorship patterns, most productive authors, most preferred sources & source origins, length of the publications, used reference count & reference types and top used keywords. Researchers’ research performance is demonstrated by calculating the views & downloads of a specific article in the community. The study also reveals the inadequacy of the Zenodo community in keeping track of contributors' citations. In conclusion, the study suggests following up some motivational & functional requirements to encourage researchers to contribute their works in open access repositories. In ethical consideration, it eliminates the digital divide, as well as maximising the societal benefits of research.

In mathematics and computer science, for a given real number, there are situations where we need to perform base number conversion. Floating point numbers are known for their very large and very small number representations such as beyond CPU 64-bit integer supporting range at the expense of loosely controlled accuracy. In Go, floating-point number conversion is only limited to Base-10 to Base-2 numbering representations. To convert into other base number representations like Base-8, Base-16, Base-9, the converter is currently unavailable. The process of reading, understanding and interpreting the inner character and performative attributes of architecture, and in-depth exploration and expression of spatial practice, are essential aspects for any design intervention on existing buildings for site-specific performance, but they are not enough used for architectural design. The originality of the action research lies in its trans-disciplinary approach and methodology derived from theatre and performance design, aimed at helping Architecture students to engage with the character of architectural spaces as a propaedeutic step of their design. This dataset is the Multilingual Corpus of the DIALLS (DIalogue and Argumentation for Literacy Learning in Schools) project (dialls2020.eu/) and consists of a set of transcripts of classroom interactions of students from ages 5 to 15 years old. These classroom interactions took place in seven DIALLS participant countries (UK, Portugal, Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Cyprus, and Israel). The corpus is a set of 202 transcripts in the participant countries' native language (English, Portuguese, German, Lithuanian, Catalan, Cypriot Greek, and Hebrew). The transcripts in each native language range from a maximum of 35 for Hebrew (more than 17% of the overall corpus) to a minimum of 19 transcripts for Cypriot Greek (10% of the corpus). More than 50% of the transcripts in a language different from English (90 transcripts) have associated their English translation. Image user interface is a commonly used component in web development for displaying pictorial and illustrative data. However, due to its simplicity, abstracting the component's structural design for building a reusable, continuously improved capable user interface module can be carelessly implemented. Hence, there is a need to carefully analyze existing available design architecturally in order to properly identify all architectural variables. This paper first reviews image web user interface and how it became a subject of research interest. This includes finding the purpose of such study and establish research metrics whenever available. Then, the paper proceeds to explore all identified architectural design variables with supporting graphical evidences. For privacy protection, the presented human identifiable imagery will be heavily blurred. Lastly, the paper concludes the research with its overall analysis outcome.

Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is usually estimated as total death over total cases. This estimate though does not take into account likely dynamic variations of fatality along the time line. Is here presented a dynamic estimation of instant case fatality rate based upon onset-to-death interval: weighted instant Case Fatality Rate (wiCFR). Estimation of wiCFR in Italy shows values and trend different from classic cumulative CFR that can be useful to better understand current situation: the trend is indeed increasing from half September, differently from classic CFR apparently decreasing.

Abstract—ANSYS Fluent will be used to simulate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for an efficient lens and nozzle design which will be explained in this paper. We have designed and characterized an aerodynamic lens and a divergent nozzle for focusing flow that transmits sub 25 nm particles through the aerodynamic lens. The design of the lens and nozzle has been improved using CFD for particle trajectories. We obtained a case for calculating nanoparticles (25 nm) flowing through the aerodynamic lens and divergent nozzle. Nanoparticles are transported by air, which is pumped into the aerodynamic lens through the nozzle at 1 atmospheric pressure. We have also developed a computational methodology that can determine the exact focus characteristics of aerodynamic lens systems. Particle trajectories were traced using the Lagrange approach. The simulation shows the ability of the aerodynamic lens to focus on 25 nm particles after using a divergent nozzle.

We will try to numerically solve the unidimensional time-independent Schrödinger equation for constant potentials using Numerov's method. The standard approach is to find the energy eigenvalues and infer the wave functions thereon. In contrast to that, we will try to find the generalized wave functions and then infer the energy eigenvalues. We start with a constant potential in infinite space, find the general solution then particularise the wave function to a potential well.

A short report upon the personal and professional story of Dr Carlo Urbani: how he identified the SARS CoV1 and contributed to the containment of the epidemia back in 2003, losing his life in the process. This is briefly compared on what we know upon the start of the SARS CoV2 - COVID-19 in Wuhan in 2020, to understand what went wrong this time and how to improve the early control of this type of diseases.
