Building & Sites Healthcare Rulemaking
The Access Board, under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, has published a final rule addressing accessibility standards for Medical Diagnostic Equipment (MDE). The standards provide design criteria for examination tables and chairs, weight scales, radiological and mammography equipment, and other diagnostic equipment that are accessible to people with disabilities. This session will provide an overview of this significant rulemaking. This webinar will include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. Participants may submit questions in advance of the webinar during the registration process or may ask questions during the live session.
Enhancing Accessibility Through Customer Experience
How does Customer Experience (CX) improve accessibility? How can agencies effectively support the needs of their customers? Nicshan Floyd, Deputy Director for Customer Experience at DHS and his team will discuss the importance of building human-centric products and services through customer experience best practices and accessibility guidelines. They will walk through key steps for inclusive design, cover the benefits of Customer Experience (CX) and talk about how to build accessible products beyond the Section 508 standards. Sign Language and Real Time Captioning will be available. Questions for the presenter can be submitted during the registration process.
