New Canford training complex update

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The work on AFC Bournemouth’s Canford training site continues to take shape, with the below updates.

Pitches

Regarding the three first-team pitches, undersoil pitch heating pipes are now being installed on pitches S2, pitch S4 has undergone a hybrid stitch which contains 20 million man-made fibres.

All three pitches will be complete by July.

Main building

The roof will be water-tight by the end of May. Façade works are all ongoing with the installation of cladding and glazing.

The internal fit-out has started with metal stud partitions and ventilation ducts.

The specialist HyrdoWorx medical recovery pool is being installed this month.

Maintenance building

The internal fit-out commences in June and will be completed by the end of the July, ready for handover to grounds staff.

Main car park

Drainage is complete with base tarmac to circulation areas.

External services

Four miles of new external services (gas, water and electric) have been taken from the site up to the main road (Canford Magna Road).

Overall progress

The first-team occupation is still on track for January 2025, with other teams to follow from March.
