    New Tabcorp chief executive Gillon McLachlan’s experience creating a lucrative wagering business within the AFL will position him well to run the country’s largest listed bookmaker, brokers and investors say.

    The appointment of Mr McLachlan, the former CEO of the AFL, to Tabcorp on Monday was met with mixed criticism. Some brokers claimed he did not have the skill set to run a public company and had no understanding of technology.
