TikTok video about finance bros is a viral hit

Megan Boni, who goes by the handle Girl On Couch, posted on TikTok at the end of April singing about “looking for a man in finance”. Since then, her video has amassed more than 2 million likes and sparked thousands of riffs and re-creations. The original recording has been turned into remixes, danced to by thousands at New York rave institution Brooklyn Mirage and streamed over 300,000 times on Spotify.

The remixes – mostly in the financial younglings’ favorite music genre, electronic – drew out meme accounts across social media that piled in and posted versions of the track while complaining about the working conditions of someone who works in finance.
