Workers are undermining their output by focusing on “short-term wins” such as responding to emails and ticking off menial tasks on their to-do list instead of prioritising high-value work.

A new report by software giant Atlassian reveals that 65 per cent of knowledge workers believe it is more important to quickly respond to messages than it is to make progress on top priorities.
