I had a big fruit-fly problem, and soon after plugging this in, I could see LOTS of little bugs trapped in the sticky part of the trap. I first tried the stationary plug-in type that has two sides and an electric cord, and I was able to place it in the middle of a larger space. It worked so well that I tried out the other variety that plugs into a socket directly. Both types work very well! I can't believe how significantly it cuts down on the fruit flies, and now that I know about this product, I've sent one as a gift to a family member. Which type is better? It depends on where you need to set up the trap. If you've got a need for the trap in an area that's slightly away from the wall, where an outlet is, this free-standing version works best. But if you have a need of a trap that's against the wall - directly in an outlet - those are great for that situation. It depends on where the problem is, which type to purchase - they BOTH work well. For anyone needing something to be in the middle of a larger space, I'd recommend this free-standing unit. I am a fan of this brand and will always have one of these around in my house from now on, they've been so impressive. (You could order it from the company's site, but you get the product more quickly from Amazon.)

Like the idea of this plug in device. So far, it only attracts fruit flies. This is fine with me. Easy to put together and the sticky tapes are easy to insert. Would buy again. But wish it did lure house flies also , the main reason why I purchased it !!!!

We were having an issue with drain flies, which are like little gnats that hide in your sink drains, and this product trapped them very well. The only issue I have is that it seems a bit overpriced for something so simple. It's basically a night light with a blue light bulb and a piece of sticky paper. The replacement sticky papers are overpriced as well. I found other vendors that sell the replacement sticky papers for about half the price of the original ones, and they work just as well.

I bought the larger unit and it is the best for catching bugs, in the spring I have a problem eith drain gnats..they go right to this. Flies and even small moths are drawn to the light, even have had nasty stink bugs stuck as well. The ease if changing the sticky panels, bugs stay stuck, no mess and no fuss. Trust me, best money I have spent verses the nasty Sprays, nasty long sticky bug catchers. If you have small bug problems ( we have 4 dogs, so in and out all day long). You should buy this.

This thing worked WONDERS for us. We always have quite a housefly problem in the summer (Oklahoma), and have tried just about everything else out there. Flies were particularly bad this year due to contractors coming in & out of the house all day, everyday. Within 2 days of setting this trap up, the housefly problem was eliminated. We live in Florida and have a lot of noseems and gnats. They can get through even the smallest screen so they can make your time outdoors on the lani miserable! We started activating one of these every night and within a few days we not only caught a ton of noseeums, but we had hardly any bothering us during the day. I just wish they made something bigger for outdoor enclosures because it really works! We have since purchased one for in the kitchen for fuit flies. Works there too.
