Celebrate summer with quick and simple art!

Yay for summer!

If you know me, you know summer is my favorite... and here in the Western Hemisphere, it's officially summer!

It's a season of iced coffee, traveling to out-of-town art museums, and taking advantage of the great weather to create art outdoors.

(Although we kicked off our summer here in Los Angeles with unusually wet and stormy weather! We had a downpour of rain and thunderstorms yesterday morning. Luckily, it was sunny by lunchtime!)

This is the perfect time of year to make that messy art (a quick spray of the hose makes for easy clean-up), and art outside– looking at landscapes and light!

Or just reserve a bunch of storybooks about artists from the library and bring artist studies into your summer reading!

I've rounded up a few fun summer activities you can do with little to no prep so you can take advantage of the early summer vibes, and invite your kids to express themselves creatively (as they learn about interesting artists from the past)!
