De Jong played outrageously in the first set - using his speed to position himself well against Draper's power and having the confidence to wallop winners.

It was intriguing to see if he could sustain that.

A dip at the start of the second set indicated the momentum was shifting, but the Dutchman has regained control after being allowed back into the contest by Draper.

Now he has the bit between his teeth at the business end of the second set.

    *Draper 5-7 4-5 De Jong

How quickly things can turn in tennis.

    Rublev 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 7-5 Daniel

It certainly wasn't easy but Andrey Rublev has overcome the dangerous Taro Daniel to reach the second round.

The world number six was forced to work hard throughout the match but showed his class to win in four sets.

Rublev has never been beyond the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam before, could that change at Roland Garros?

  4. De Jong breaks backpublished at 13:22 26 May

    Draper 5-7 4-4 De Jong*

Well that has come out of nowhere.

Jack Draper looked to be on course for a comfortable hold at 40-0 up, but then opened the door for Jesper De Jong with a poor return after a rally.

That sends confidence coursing back through De Jong as he wins the next four points to break back.

The pressure, once again, flips onto Draper.

  5. Rublev saves break pointspublished at 13:15 26 May

    Rublev 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 6-5 Daniel*

Two break points for Taro Daniel are brilliantly saved by Andrey Rublev!

The world number six looked to be on his way to being broken for the first time in set four but he dug in to force deuce and take the game.

He is now one game away from the match, again.

  6. Postpublished at 13:14 26 May

    *Draper 5-7 4-3 De Jong

The wind has picked up a bit and a few people are cautiously holding onto their hats in the stands.

It doesn't appear to be massively affecting the two on the court, but the pressure is on Jesper de Jong now as he battles to stay in this set.

He looks to have let slip the chance to hold as Jack Draper gets to deuce but the Dutchman takes the next two points, sealing the game when Draper sends a return long.

A roar of 'come on' as Naomi Osaka brings up the match point, and a sigh of relief as she gets it over the line. The former world number one from Japan avoids a first-round upset.

That will be a tough one to take for Lucia Bronzetti, who fought back from a set down before coming back from 4-0 down in the decider.

  9. Postpublished at 13:09 26 May

    Draper 5-7 4-2 De Jong*

The momentum is firmly with Jack Draper and the pressure is on Jesper de Jong.

The Brit races into a 40-0 lead and that's 11 unanswered points, but De Jong claims a fantastic point with a flick on the line, prompting him to thrust his fist into the air and cheers from the Dutch crowd.

It doesn't stop Draper from holding, but that was the bit of boost he needed as Draper was taking control.

    *Rublev 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 4-4 Daniel

The first break point of the set goes to Andrey Rublev and the world number six cannot find a way past Taro Daniel!

It's brilliant stuff to force deuce and then see out the game in the next two points.

  12. Draper breaks servepublished at 13:05 26 May

    Draper 5-7 3-2 De Jong*

Now the momentum swings Jack Draper's way.

That will be a boost for the Briton having had a perhaps trickier than anticipated match so far.

  13. Draper battles back to holdpublished at 13:01 26 May

    Draper 5-7 2-2 De Jong*

Jesper de Jong is playing some great tennis here but you have to wonder how long he can maintain this level.

An early break in this set would provide a boost of adrenaline and a double fault on his opening serve by Jack Draper gives De Jong a bit of hope it may come in this game, but Draper takes the next four points to hold.

If you had no idea who was playing over on Lenglen, you’d be able to have a goood guess from the noise drifting over into court 12.

Chants of ‘Allez les bleus’, brass instruments playing La Marseillaise (and the Pink Panther theme), plus Icelandic-style thunderclaps are indicative of fervent French support.

Sounds like a heck of a lot of fun.

The home fans are creating a football-style atmosphere as French 17th seed Ugo Humbert tries to fight back against Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego.

  15. Postpublished at 13:00 26 May

    Rublev 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 4-3 Daniel*

Some brilliant serving is on show with both men standing firm in the fourth set and neither are yet to force any break points so far.

Could we be on our way to a tie-breaker?

    Bronzetti 1-6 6-4 5-4 Osaka*

Wow. What an incredible comeback this is from Lucia Bronzetti.

She was 4-0 down in the decider, but somehow the Italian has cancelled out Naomi Osaka's double break and pulled ahead.

Bronzetti is just one game away from knocking out the former world number one.

Jack Draper is struggling to find a way through at the moment.

  18. Bronzetti breaks backpublished at 12:54 26 May

    Bronzetti 1-6 6-4 3-4 Osaka*

It's getting interesting on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Lucia Bronzetti has won her third game in a row and narrowed Naomi Osaka's lead in the third set.

The pressure is on for the former world number one.

  19. Draper holdspublished at 12:54 26 May

    Draper 5-7 1-1 De Jong*

Good response by Jack Draper to halt the Jesper de Jong momentum for now.

He's 40-0 up but slips on the line and then sends a forehand wide to open the door for De Jong.

However, Draper gets the job done with a strong crosscourt backhand.

  20. De Jong starts second set wellpublished at 12:49 26 May

    *Draper 5-7 0-1 De Jong

Jesper de Jong is definitely a qualifier, right? He's playing some top-20 level tennis here as he kicks off the second set with a hold, once again besting Jack Draper with some power and accurate hitting.
