  3. Game, set and match - Alcarazpublished at 15:27 26 May

    Wolf 1-6 2-6 1-6 Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz misses one point for the match but he makes no mistake at the second time of asking.

Yes, J.J. Wolf wasn't much competition but Alcaraz is off to a flying start as he goes in search of his first French Open title.

Despite still wearing that supportive sleeve on his right arm, there were no signs of any injury problems for Alcaraz as he dropped just four games inside two hours on court.

    *Wolf 1-6 2-6 1-3 Alcaraz

Better from J.J. Wolf to force deuce off the Carlos Alcaraz serve.

A powerful, flat forehand was a rare winner for the American to earn his first break point - which he brilliantly closed out.

    Finally some encouragement for Wolf.

The weather forecast only gave a small chance of rain, but tell that to the few spectators who have decided to stay put on court 12 and huddle under their umbrellas.

If Jack Draper is going to win this, he has to go all the way.

Only once has the Brit played a five-set match - when he came through in brutal conditions at this year's Australian Open to beat Marcos Giron.

That felt like a landmark moment in the 22-year-old's career, showing he had built up the physical and mental resilience to overcome adversity.

In his pre-tournament media here at Roland Garros, Draper said that win had given him added confidence and he's going to need to dip into that now.

    *Wolf 1-6 2-6 Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz eases into a two-set lead over J.J. Wolf with some very comfortable tennis from the third seed.

Wolf is trying his best to raise his level and give the Spaniard something to think about but it's proving rather difficult so far.

Just one hour and 15 minutes on court and it's all going to plan for Alcaraz.

There's plenty happening in the women's singles.

Ninth seed Jelena Ostapenko looks in control against Romanian Jaqueline Cristian. The Latvian has taken the first set on Court Suzanne Lenglen.

Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk's match with Brazilian Laura Pigossi has gone to a decider. The 18th seed took the first set but was beaten in a tie-break in the second.

And American Sofia Kenin, who reached the quarter-finals in 2020, is a set down to German Laura Siegemund, while Jessica Bouzas Maneiro of Spain is a set up against Croatian Jana Fett.
