'It's this bizarre sense of just losing yourself'

Dr Maurice Duffy is a regular guest on BBC Radio Newcastle and friend of Anna Foster's.

He is a mindset coach and author focusing on high performance and his wife, Karen Lee, is a former barrister and politician.

Their world changed when Karen was diagnosed with PCA, a rare, visual variant of Alzheimer's disease at the age of 55.

There is currently no known cure or medication for the condition.

They have a 15-year-old son, Ethan, and despite Maurice's expertise and coaching others in dealing with adverse situations, he has described the diagnosis and the journey in front of them as extremely difficult to cope with.
