Belfast conflict photographer on the realities of documenting war: ‘My stuff’s not exactly a holiday…’

A Belfast photographer is documenting the conflict in Ukraine from the frontlines. He speaks to Aine Toner about the realities of war

Conall Kearney — who is in Kyiv when speaking to Review — has had a long-standing interest in conflict photography, something he says was ignited through growing up in Northern Ireland.

“Obviously I was born after the worst of the days is but it was still enough… especially different riots and different incidents and then especially as I got more into photography, the flag riots happened,” he explains
