Derry GAA footballer proposes following weekend Allianz League success: ‘My biggest win yet’

Glass (25) popped the question at the luxurious Adare Manor in Limerick, sharing pictures of the happy occasion for himself and Neeve O’Donnell on social media.

Derry secured a victory over Kerry in the Allianz League on Saturday, with the final scoreboard reading 0-15 to 2-08.

But the weekend was made ever more special as Glass described Neeve saying "yes" as his "biggest win yet".

The pair run Café 3121, an Australian-style cafe in Maghera together. According to RSVP, the couple got together in 2021, making it official on Instagram while attending a friend's wedding.

And earlier this month Glass told RSVP Live he was set for a busy 2024 after devoting much of his time to the Derry team and returning from several years in Australia.

“I’ve definitely not made it easy on myself. I’m in my final year at university as well. It’s my personality. I’m very laid back in terms of I don’t tend to overthink things too much.

“The support network of having your family and friends. Thankfully, my girlfriend is a partner in the cafe.

“Anytime I’m at training or the matches, she’s there keeping the cafe running. It’s passing the baton off to them when it needs be.”

Glass revealed that he had conversations with his now-fiancee about how their relationship would work while co-owning a cafe together.

He explained: “It came up during the initial conversation of opening a cafe. I think myself and Neeve have a fantastic relationship. We know each other inside and out.

“One thing we try to do is not take our work home. It can be hard sometimes, if you have a bad day at work, but that’s just human nature. You’ll be taking it home to your family, your mother or such when you do have a bad day.

“I can’t stress enough that it’s been the best thing for us to go into business together, because I can pass over the responsibility to Neeve and fully trust her that she’s going to do the right thing.

“It just comes down to the relationship that both of us have and the trust we have in each other.”
