They say you always remember your first love and, while I’m not sure about that, I’ll always remember popping my Portugal cherry with this trip.
It was my first time visiting this sun-splashed country of unspoiled beaches, Douro wine and custard tarts; and I admit I’d ignorantly always thought of Portugal as an extension of Spain so it had never made my bucket list.
