A man has been arrested after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police said the alleged offence took place in Stapleton on Monday, June 17.

A woman, aged in her 40s, told police she had been sexually assaulted while walking along Wickham Glen, a path linking Park Road and the Frome Valley Walkway, at around 1pm. A man, aged in his 30s, was subsequently arrested yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, June 19.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Additional high-visibility reassurance patrols are being carried out by local officers and we’d encourage anyone with concerns to please speak to them.
